If they do, they do, but I've known of the glitch since 2020 and they haven't fixed it yet. I'm sure it must go back even earlier like the dupe glitch that's been in the game since day one. Shameless plug... Have you seen my video on how to dupe items? xD

This is good advice, especially for first-time players. Personally, even though I've got 6 or 7 save files over the past 8 years, I wait until I've discovered what I'm short on or what is hard to obtain before I use this exploit. But that's just me. Someone else may feel the only way to enjoy a game like this is to dupe everything and their mother! xD

@@awfullufwa launch of the update* Basebuilding was shockingly not at launch. Shocking because of how it quickly took over the game.

In this case just drop the power armor piece on the ground, open your console like normal with tilde ~, click on the piece of armor and a form id will display at the top of the console text field, something in parenthesis like (ff0010ad). This is how you know you've clicked on it. Then, just type "attachmod 001f1e0c" (without the quotes, of course) and hit Enter. Exit the console, pick up your new piece of power armor.

I've been trying reproduce this error message. I haven't been able to. Are you sure you're following every step? I know i have a terrible voice so I'll list the steps out here: - make sure you've chosen the id for which legendary effect you want from an online source, I'll use Assassin's for this example. It's id is 001E6846 - start with a weapon that has no legendary effects for best results - enter your Pip Boy's inventory and drop the weapon out of your inventory by pressing R or the equivalent on a controller - place your cursor over the weapon and hold E or the controller equivalent to pick up the weapon - Press the tilde key to open your console and type GetPlayerGrabbedRef and hit Enter. This will generate a line of code that says, for example, GetPlayerGrabbedRef >> (ff001403) The reference number in parentheses will be different for you. - Next, type the ref id, without parentheses, in to console followed by .amod and the Legendary effect id. I looked up Assassin's so the complete line will read ff001403.amod 001E6846 then hit Enter and close the console with tilde - The new weapon ought to drop to the ground. It may hover but usually drops and it should have the new effect attached I've had to add disclaimers in the past involving DLCs. If you are missing DLCs and the effect is only found in the missing DLCs, you won't be able to add it to anything. There's also issues with the DLC legendary weapon effects starting with the load order of DLCs. For example, if you only have Far Harbor, the legendary weapon effect id would start with 01. If you have all DLCs, Far Harbor legendary weapon effect ids start with 03. There could be other issues which I'm not aware of. If you have mods through Nexus or other sites there could be conflicts, I suppose. And I know Bethesda is doing an update in a couple days. Maybe they've changed something in the background. Not sure. I surely hope you can figure out what went wrong.

@@Lost39678 So, this is a little different than base game effects. Effects which begin XX are all DLC mods. So, according to which DLC you have you'd input a different number according to load order of the DLC. This is the list of how the game loads DLC if you have ALL the DLC: 1 Automatron 2 Wasteland Workshop 3 Far Harbor 4 Contraptions Workshop 5 Vault-Tec Workshop 6 Nuka-World Now, say you have a weapon you want to put the Far Harbor effect Deadeye on. Since Far Harbor is the 3rd DLC in the load order you'd use 03 in place of XX in the form id of the Deadeye effect, or 0300DA99. If you only bought Far Harbor and Nuka-World, Far Harbor would be loaded first and Nuka-World second. Like this: 1 Far Harbor 2 Nuka-World This would make the same form id for Deadeye 0100DA99. If you own none of the DLC, none of the DLC legendary effect form ids you try to put on weapons will work.

It depends on DLC. If you have Far Harbor, the DLC that Rad Powered comes from, you'll follow the same path I lay out in this video for weapon effects. The rub is if you don't have Far Harbor, it won't work. And if you do have Far Harbor, the legendary effect id will depend on if you have all the DLC or just Far Harbor. The legendary effect id for DLC effects start with xx, meaning you have to input certain numbers that coincide with how the DLC is loaded. If you only have Far Harbor the legendary effect id for Rad Powered would be 01010B86. If you have _all_ DLC then the legendary effect id for Rad Powered would be 03010B86.

The same method applies to armor pieces. The list for legendary armor effects is in the video description box. If you try to add a legendary effect to armor and it doesn't work try removing the first two zeros from the legendary effect ID. For example, if the legendary effect ID is 001F1DF9, only input 1F1DF9, but otherwise follow the same instructions I gave in the video. Another issue which may arise is lack of DLC for your chosen legendary effect. If you're trying to add a legendary effect only found in DLC but you do not have the corresponding DLC installed, the effect won't take.

As far as I know there's no limit beyond only being able to put one Effect on the weapon. Is it a clean weapon with no other effects present? Also, there may be conflicts with mods, like, if it's a weapon added to the game through a mod, the added weapon may not take the effect. And DLCs, do you have them all, or none? DLC weapon effects can't be put on anything if you don't have the DLCs. Hope this helps, keep me posted.

This only applies to the weapon you modify. All weapons dropped out in the world, unless from a legendary enemy, should be base type. Same with vendors, though, vendors do carry vendor specific legendary variants of some weapon types. Cricket, the wandering weapon vendor, for example, sells a legendary explosive submachine gun called Spray n' Pray. So if you want an explosive variant of every type of weapon you'll have to repeat this process for each or explore vendors for explosive variants.
