The anthem's message coincides with the celebrations for the establishment of the First Republic and mindful of the threat of American conquest of the country.

These lines were added by Beethoven himself in 1824, when he composed his ninth symphony. All the other words in the song were written by Friedrich Schiller in 1785: O Freunde! Nicht diese tone! Lasst uns zuhören lieber, angenehmer anstimmen, Und freudenvollere! In fact, many Germans wanted to use Ode to Joy as the National Anthem of Germany after the Allied Occupation ended in 1949. However, since Beethoven's music reflected Austria rather than Germany (despite the fact that he was born there), they instead opted to go with a more nationalistic song. And in 1952, the current national anthem of Germany, Das Lied der Deutschen (or Deutschlandlied) was readopted for West Germany, and since German reunification in 1990, the same song has been the anthem. Ode to Joy would have been a better choice, but since this is not an Ode to Germany, I think Deutschlandlied works better.

This song was originally presented in the 1943 Soviet Film "Two Warriors." Mark Bernes originally sang this song, and after seeing the film for the first time, Stalin called him to thank him for raising the morale of the soldiers. Stalin also listened to the song about Odessa and Leningrad, which are in the film, but this song stuck out the most. Because every Soviet Soldier felt this way.

Translation: Dark is the night, only bullets whistle in the steppe, Only the wind whistles through the wires, the stars are faintly flickering. In the dark night, I know you are not sleeping, my love, And near a child’s crib, you wipe away a tear. How do I love the depths of your gentle eyes, How do I wish to press my lips to them now! This dark night is what separates us, my love, And the dark treacherous steppe has lain between us. I believe in you, my beloved sweetheart, This faith has shielded me from bullets in this dark night. I am happy, I stay calm in the deadly battle, I know that you will greet me with love, no matter what may happen. I do not fear death, we have met it many times in the steppe, Even right now, it hovers continuously above me, You await me, sleepless next to a child’s crib, And because of this I know nothing will happen to me. And because of this I know nothing will happen to me.

Translation: From the ruins risen newly, Turned towards the future, we stand, Let us serve thy good weal truly, Germany, united fatherland. Triumph over bygone sorrow, Can in unity be won, So that we attain a morrow, When over our Germany, Shines the beautiful Sun! Shines the beautiful Sun! May happiness and peace inspire Germany, our fatherland. Peace is the whole world’s desire, Extend to the people your hand. If we are brotherly united, We shall defeat the people’s foe, Let all paths by peace be lighted So that a mother never again Mourns her son in woe. Mourns her son in woe. Let us plow and build our nation, Learn and create as never yet, So that a new free generation Faith in its own strength begets! German youth, the best striving Of our people in you are one, You shall be Germany’s reviving, As over our Germany, Shines the beautiful Sun! Shines the beautiful Sun!

Very regrettable the invasion by the United States to the Philippines and the killing of 3 million Filipino citizens, mostly Spanish speakers between 1899 and 1913 in the so-called Philippine-American War in which the invading American general Jacob Smith, said regarding Filipino civilians including many children in May 1902 and the very infamous said: kill as many Filipinos when you can, the more the more satisfaction they will give me, so infamous, the Filipinos while they were part of Spain were Filipino citizens until before 1898 after that year and the invasion of the United States they became third-class citizens, neither Spanish nor North American, but this information is hidden in Philippine schools, they do not speak the truth, Philippine education is manipulated in which they speak ill of Spain and praise the Yankee invaders, the true perpetrators of the Philippine genocide.
