I can see that airbags going off like this may increase your chances of having a true wreck. That's dangerous.

Found some of the answers in your ECR video with the same car: "Car is a 2010 Z06 on ooolllldd A052s, stock drivetrain, full weight, no aero." What tires and brake pads were you on in this HHR track day? Just asking to learn. I'm trying to get my car down to a 1:30 on Michelin PS4S tires. Still refining my driving and a few aspects of the car. Thanks in advance! 🍻 ✌

You were absolutely killing it on that lap! Very clean lines. Heartbreaking that the Z driver wasn't watching his RVM to point you by sooner coming out of turn 8. That is a deeply frustrating feeling (#beenthere). What spec of C6 were you driving? LS3 Z51? Grand Sport?

What is the tire setup on this car? I have a 2017 Camaro SS non-magna ride and I have put ZLE wheels on and the rear. I have plenty of space to go with a 355. I know a lot of people say that they rub but they're typically on SS1LEs or ZLs. I'm not 100% sure The front of my car has 305 30 19s and I'm contemplating buying 325s to put on the front as well. I have no spacers and I do not rub on stock suspension. I have not lowered the car but the wheel gap is atrocious at the moment. I'm thinking I probably won't be able to put 325s if I lower it and I think I may end up rubbing if I do lower on 305s as well? What is your exact tire wheel and suspension combination?
@RStandsForRace
@RStandsForRace Жыл бұрын
355 will rub without a lot of modification. We ran a custom set of Finspeed wheels, 18x12 F and 18x13 R, usually on something like a 300/680 F 320/710 R Michelin S9M with Detroit Speed coilovers.

@@RStandsForRace but you guys own a ZL1 correct? Is the suspension thinner and has more clearance or is it the reverse? the reason why I ask, when I got underneath the car to look at it, there's a solid inch of space before my rim will come in contact with the shock. Now obviously the wheel is not going to move. Just a slightly bigger tire is going to be mounted to it. So theoretically speaking, the only way it would rub is if it's taller. But from what I'm looking at if I just relocate the wire harness I should be okay. Since I don't rub with 325 30 19s. I've been told 345 30 19s are a safe bet. But since I don't have Magna ride, I believe I have more clearance. I've seen folks run the kumo ACR tire 355 30 19 and one gentleman said that it rubbed ever so slightly on the fender liner

@@RStandsForRace perhaps I can send you guys some pictures to get a better judgment from you guys since you're a well more versed than I am. But I believe I am a interesting case because of the fact that most people that own a Camaro SS aren't going that wide for one. But they also have MRC which I don't. Most people stick to 285 305s because they don't really buy aftermarket wheels. And most were told that 20x10 and 20x11 is fine. However, I went with 19x11 19x12 from the ZL1 1LE set up and I was told it was going to rub up front but I don't either. Which is what makes me believe I might be able to pull it off
@RStandsForRace

@@cleysoptique8749 Owned both a ZL1 and a ZLE at one time, don't own either one now. We ran the ACR tire on the ZLE and it rubbed, even with a shit ton of negative camber. Not sure what you're trying to do with your car, but there are faster tires for less hassle than the ACR tire.

@@RStandsForRace honestly part of me just wants to do it and see just because it's kind of cool knowing you have one of the biggest tires mounted to a production car lol On the other hand, Michelin and Continental also make a 355 30 19 and I feel like the continental will actually run a little bit more narrow as they typically do. Kind of actually wanted to not buy the kumo Tire. Anyways, I wanted to try the Michelin PS4 S or the Continental Extreme contact Sport which I've owned the continental but not the Michelin. And I know for a fact both of those tires are probably a little bit better in terms of longevity anyways. Realistically speaking, 325 345 would probably be preferred set up or 305 325 especially for the track. I know there's not going to be that much difference in terms of lap times. But since you guys have not own an SS, I'm in that weird bracket where I want to try to run a 325. The people that said that they bolted it up. It wouldn't turn as soon as they lower the car but they all were running Magna ride which means there's less clearance with that suspension So I guess I just really want to see because I do know a 325 Hoosier would grip better than a 305 Goodyear 🤔🤷

Not really. Went with Callaway because a used unit popped up for sale for cheap. Stock bottom end with a cam and head work. Made 800ish WHP eventually on a E50 mix. Tuning was done by Dedicated Motorsports up in Dallas. Wasn't anything super special done to the car.

I commented in another video of yours. Anyways I bought same size wheel setup for my c7z and also 2 rear 19x12.5 to test against. So 315 30 18 front 315 30 19 rear tested against 315 30 18 square. I auto x and road course time attack but only tested 19 vs 18 rear on autox. Results blew my mind. My car makes a little over 600 wheel so idk how different but I went a full second faster on 19 rears. Puts down power so much better is crazy. I'm now thinking going 19 front 20 rear. Unfortunately no good tire options cause also 200 tw limited. Although nankangs are an option. I'm a Falken guy though and sponsored by them and apex. So im going to have to stick with 18 front 19 rear. May try 305 30 19 front and 315 30 19 rear at some point. I run the vs5rs forged wheels but ran sm10s on my camaro at one point. I like your videos cause we do very similar things. Keep it up and be safe.
