Hi, The black Islay boots have a durable Vibram sole, but the brown ones do not. Do you know why? Is it possible to order a Vibram sole for the brown boots?

Why do you call it a more durable? I don’t know if you can do MTO with Crockett but it will be expensive.

Honestly with the increasing price of Crockett trickers might be better value. However if you can afford it it’s still great and iconic. I made a cheaper alternative with Carlos santos just this week in fact.

@kato2395 really? If that’s the case the Coniston is a no brainer. Remember this review was 3 years ago. If you want to get a Coniston I’d be glad to help you from my store but if you are talking pounds, you are probably in the UK and it makes more sense to buy locally i’m not sure.

@@MisiuAcademy I am not from Europe but I am planning to visit the C&J Brussels flagship store to try the Coniston directly because I have a wide duck feet. So I want to make sure if the last they use to make the Coniston really fits me and the boot doesn't crush my pinky toe. So I guess I am going to have to try them myself in person. My friend your comparing a $250 shoe to your bespoke shoe. Is that a fair comparison? What are you going to be charging for your shoes? when comparing anything you should compare apples to apples. There really isn’t much competition in the $250 price range for Goodyear welding and leather souls with full grain leather uppers. For what they’re charging I think they’re doing very well. as soon as the quality starts to go up, so will the price.

@vini123 bosco is always stated as very dark green. If you find a patina artist they can probably strip it easily and redye them for you.

Bought these discounted from one Spanish store after watching multiple reviews. Out of the box they look chiselled but after a few walks they lose the edge a bit. Definitely go for your regular size. They are reasonably comfortable but due to the pointiness an slight shortness they are not as comfortable as for example Conistons. They look good though and are currently my go to shoes when it´s raining. Not for a super long walks yet, they need time.

Now I own this exact shoe and am thrilled. They look great. The finish work is amazing. I ordered mine with toe taps and half rubber topy. THe toe tap is flush and perfect. I love the fit and cant believe the incredible value. I ordered them from Arterton and think they provide the best customer service.. I am a huge fan of Yearn shoes

It's a 2 year clip and probably your channel was just building, but it's a bit of a 💩 move to keep the shoes after you reviewed them negatively. You spoke your truth, did your clip, did some damage on the false image they were trying to represent, BUT kept them and afterwards sold them?😮 You got them for free, didn't like the quality, but it's OK to sell them to another sucker?

Sir, I sold the shoes for the amount of money I paid import duties and taxes. That was a very small amount and the owner is very happy. I have way too many shoes now and I always request if I can ship them back.

How far up is the tongue waterproof? I haven’t found any photos showing if the tongue is attached to the sides or not. On my Coniston it is not, so if water goes over the vamp, it lands in your boot:(

They don’t have bellows tongues as far as I remember. But these are higher boots so it should help a bit!

I find it always surprising how little attention the last shape is given in such reviews. For instance a comparison of the last form between 325 and 365 and its outlines would be very useful so ppl with certain types of feet can decide which is better for them avoiding pressure points in the toe box area and so on. But many if not most customers would never admit that the last is not well fitted for them. Most customers would rather keep wearing a shoe destroying their feet instead of actually buying a shoe made on a suitable last. That said 365 is the most anatomical last of CJ and its too bad they only make a boot on it!

@@MisiuAcademy Well the 365 must be used on shoes as well by CJ. It's the only last with a low instep and wide asymetric forefoot/ toe box. This type of shape anatomical design allows for a sleek looking boot to fit wider feet without looking bulky like some country style brogue boots. The 325 has a much higher instep a less wide fore foot which is a no go for many ppl when you look at GMTO threads on the styleforum. One group of ppl never order anything in 325 but will order everything in 365 and vice versa.

as with all leathers it depends on the type of wear you do. It will patina and look more rugged for sure.

Bemer? Doesnt seem their heel heights are as tall which i like in the TF's.. Also the waist on TF tapers more aggressively then those mentioned...thank u again and keep up the great work!!
