There were two high school girls. One would leave her name on the town where the railroad starts. The other would leave her name on a building at WCU not far away. They were friends in a tiny school in the middle of the small campus of WCC (WCU now) where you could start school in the first grade and graduate with an MA. Being girls, they competed for the boys in their tiny school. The friendship lasted a lifetime. Their boys went on to do other things. I married one, the college girl. It lasted 60 years. Then I had to lay her to her rest. What a ride! I miss her.terribly. The other girl still lives in Franklin, although she is now a bit elderly.

Excited to go to Franklin in a month. Are there any advanced or challenging hiking trails?

check out our website www.visitfranklinnc.com for hiking info - Standing Indian Mountain and Yellow Mountain Fire Tower are two longer challenging hikes. Also, Whiterock Mountain via Jones Gap is a great hike but a bit shorter than the first two.

these stupid motorcycles ruin your visit everywhere you go there , they think these roads were made just for them. they are a nuisance and need barred from this area .

Yes he is, lol. It's the name given by locals because people fall and hurt themselves on their butt when they go down the waterfall / slide. Hence Bust Your Butt Falls 😂
