Recently my company and other remanufacurers are now selling toner cartridges with an aftermarket chip. It may or may not get blocked by HP. HP also stopped selling their "e" series printers. HP toner cartridges are made in Japan, US, France, China and Vietnam. They don't use forced labor like the compatible toner companies do. This is why the 4th largest toner manufacturer in the world that is Ninestar is banned by the department of homeland security. The annoying part is that because they are so big and divest every day with a new company name being sold on Amazon it is destroying reman companies like mine that have done it the right way for 36+ years.

Also remanufactured toners that reuse the original Hzp chips don't have the "NON-HP CHIP DETECTED" message. Use reman toner to save money!

CathrinMachinart, yes HP has become very anti-consumer but they also make a very good printer still. Instead of getting the cheap China-made toners that are made using forced labor go with an American company that is half the cost of an HP toner cartridge. That's what we we provide.

Original toners are very expensive but you do have another great option. Remanufactured toner cartridges from a reputable company like ours works just like the originals.

We make all of our own toner cartridges at our office in NYS. The toner cartridge that we make is the W1480A or W1480A series toners. They will not work in the 4001dn(e) or 4101dn(e) printers. All (e) series printers you will need to use genuine brand HP toner cartridges as the printer needs to be connected using ethernet. They will work fine in the other printers. You will need to watch some of my other videos on HP 4001 series to better understand how to use our toners. We reuse the original HP toner cartridge cores for all HP printers so we leave on the original HP chips. HP allows remanufacturers like us to operate our toners in their printers this way. You will not get toner low or toner out messages. You will need to visually evaluate your pages to see when the toner is low. Thanks for your question.

It is so frustrating. I was only able to get it to work once I connected the printer with an ethernet cable. That was my fist issue. Because I use these printers to post test all of my toners that we sell. I quickly found out that I could not use the printer to run my tests. Once I purchased the HP 4001dn printer I could print to my printer with the chips that I use on the toner cartridges. I am sorry that you had to go through this. I do still favor HP printers. I do think that Lexmark is going to have a lot of issues in the US because of too many connections to forced labor. But we will see.

@@NortheastToner And when first connected to Internet through a business network. It can be lot problem connecting to HP because of Firewalls, proxy server etc. And it will not registrate then, so not possible to run. Probably it is this problem for me with my printers. It was at the conference centers network I tried to connect. So I will try again when the printers is back home to me, on my network. There is a 4002 dw and it is 100% same as dwe, says now HP support to me. Only another firmware on dwe that do this shit. I bought dwe because HP store salesman told me that dwe was better because "e" stand for e mobility to connect from a mobile phone app to printer with Bluetooth. And that was not possible with dw. That was wrong! I like HP also, always go laptops and printers HP for 25 years for renting out to my Event customers. But this e and HP+ is a lot of trouble...

It is very easy to try to prove me wrong. Purchase the same model toner cartridge from 3-4 different aftermarket toner cartridge sellers on Amazon of the same model toner cartridge and you tell me your findings. Thanks for watching my video!

Just wanted to see if you did try the same model toner from a different vendor on Amazon. Also, look up Department of Homeland Security Ban on China made toner cartridges. Amazon is still selling these toners even though they have been made with slave labor. Please let me know what your findings are because I am sure that it matches up to what I know. Thanks,

Hello, Yes, using the HP 4001n or 4001dn is perfectly fine to use. Do you currently purchase your MICR toners through Troygroup.com? Troy is the sister company that makes the MICR toner cartridges for HP. Before purchasing the printer, please look and see if the MICR toner cartridges are available. The toner that comes with the printer will not be a MICR toner. You need to purchase that separately. If I said reload the chip, I didn't mean to. With all of the new HP printers, they're trying to block all of these cheap toners sold on Amazon from China with periodic firmware upgrades blocking these toner cartridges. Using our toners or remanufactured toners, you will be fine as long as they reuse the original HP chip on the toner. Hope this helps.

@@NortheastToner i was thinking of getting the printer directly from Troy yes so i figured i should get the toner from there as well since they are the standard from what I see, also they seem to have the best checks also but I heard that adp checks are the best, any info on that? Its either those two for me. Thanks about getting the micr toner i thought it came with it, they are expensive but worth it id say, thanks so much.!!!!

@bizarro micky if you need to have the locks on the paper frays for the checks then go through Troy. Otherwise you can purchase a regular printer and use Troy or a company like mine for your MICR roner.

@@NortheastToner sounds good, but I need a official printer for checks and legal paperwork, this one only does checks? Also do you have any recommendations for that type of printer that does both?

@@bizzaromicky71Most of my customers will use their printer for double duty. When they print checks once a week they install the MICR toner cartridge. When they are done they remove it and put it in a box and install the regular toner cartridge. If you are printing a lot be sure to get the HP W1480X toner instead of the low yield toner that only prints about 3k pages. They are a waste of money if you pint enough pages. I hope this helps
