If I see a manic doctor making KZbin videos and talking fast and being grandiose saying he is better than other doctors and overly falsely confident about prescribing and making decisions with psych meds, I usually put them on an anti psychotic like Ubilify and give Lorazepam pen for behaviours. How would you treat this gentleman to help him?

Antidepressants almost killed me. I’m now almost completely off Effexor (300 down to 75) and the mood stabilizer has stopped the hypomania. I wish the family dr I went to talk to about my inattentive type adhd had listened to me instead of saying it just sounded like depression… she threw me on lexapro which led to 2 years of worsening mental illness and multiple different antidepressants until she sent me to a psych.

I don’t need it. Took leaped didn’t have anxiety but became a little manic and then more so would get agitated and then when I stopped it I lost my career and reputation due to insulting people and acting erratically and being very rude and thinking I had no choice but to do it. I lost my social flexibility and my emotional compass.

according to the DSM-5, doesn't drug induced (SSRI/SNRI) mania not count for bipolar? The manic episode has to occur without drugs causing it

Hi. Ive been on antidepressants for years now. Fluxatine , setraline, then now on fenlefaxine for the last coupe of years. Was on 37.5mg and week ago moved up to 75mg. The doctor refering me for a bipolar assessment same time he upped my meds. Week on and i feel if im taking cocaine and buzzing feeling. Feel like all lights brighter, noise louder and feel more awake. Does this sound like induced mania due to meds increase?

It will lessen as your body gets used to it. You’ll feel really really good, then crash into depression. That’s when the episodes start.

Yeah SSRIs can cause mania. It happened to me after taking celexa, citralopram. I didn't know what was happening, thought I had been given super powers by God, went missing for 5 days before being arrested in Athens Greece and hospitalized.

So to conclude Does ssris cause mania individually or it is just for those patients who have a history of bipolar?? I have used ssris for almost 1-2 years but didnt have mania

In general, there is some evidence that SSRIs can induce mania is patients with bipolar disorder.

It’s subjective and this is why psychiatry needs to evolve as a field because just think about it. How many people who have had ssri-induced mania and subsequently diagnosed with bipolar disorder needed to be placed on a powerful antipsychotic medication regimen for life? I’m not denying that for some people that was necessary. But it would be ignorant, medically reckless, and scientifically incorrect to conclude that ssri-induced mania proves bipolar disorder. In fact this is the one and only exclusion criteria for Bipolar I diagnosis in the DSM-V itself, so I have no idea why that’s not the first thing every medical professional in this area points out to you. Please see for yourself here because until I looked at the DSM-V myself I was led to believe this is irrelevant which I found not only perplexing from a purely logical standpoint and with just a basic understanding of the biology of ssri’s, but also upsetting. I am sure who ever put medication on a guy first will pay with his life. There is not law suits under federal laws. That's what you get when you don't know if person is metally ill because that's bunch of shit made up. Son, if you go way you are going now pretty sure you will end dead, running bunch of bots on a DJMax Server, and I run infinity system. Same rule applies on DJMax Server on you. If you keep using fever x5 to avoid your ban and keep running bots, pretty certain you are going to explode. Those options available only if think you can handle it.
