So sad, A/P disconnect when fully configured for landing.
@bagels37725 күн бұрын
Why is it sad?
@28xnlh17 күн бұрын
@ Because configuring the aircraft and stabilized on the ils before disconnecting the A/P makes it too easy. Manual flying to the ils and then configuring is more feeling to the aircraft behaviour and is better for the skills

Great video of a butter smooth landing, many thanks for sharing. You seemed to be glued to the FD on short final.👋 Since I am a bit late to the party you probably will not see and read my question. As per the warning sound and the indication on the PFD the AP was disengaged at 0:55, but it looked like as if you were already steering the plane manually before. At least you had your hand on the yoke. Has your hand just followed the automatic movements of the yoke then?
@theHDRflightdeck2 ай бұрын
Hi thanks for the comment. My hand is always on the yoke during the approach regardless of the autopilot status as I am always ready to take control! When it is engaged I just follow what it’s doing with my hand because this gives me an exact picture of what the autopilot is doing and also how the conditions outside change during the approach.

Not on this model actually. On the short field upgrade and on the MAX it spools up much faster. What helped on this is moving the Thrust levers to idle early.

Is there any specific reason why you need 2 autopilots when your yokes are mechanically linked. I'd understand on Airbus but why Boeing
@theHDRflightdeck5 ай бұрын
Two autopilots are needed for redundancy in case one fails and also for Autoland. Only one autopilot is working at a time on both boeing and airbus, except in the case of autoland where they work together.
@aviationfan26375 ай бұрын
@@theHDRflightdeck good to know
@chris22capt3 ай бұрын
Those 2 autopilots take data from different side. The A use captain side while the B use the right side. That's for redudancy. Doesn't matter if the yoke is mechanically like on Boeing or separated like on Airbus. Two autopilots is standard but there are some aircraft with more autopilot. The 747/757/767 have 3 autopilots and all them have yoke mechanically connected with no FBW.
