The HSR-1 was TRULY gorgeous & highly sophisticated vehicle. thanx for this very informative video 'this concept (HSR-1) is very mysterious & there's not much photos of its interior/dashboard on the net

Remember visiting a preservation group in the early 80's. I never understood how low height buses worked. The bus is lower but the gangways inside are the same as a normal height bus. This group had such a bus Potteries NEH 453, the lady let me on and then I saw all the seats upstairs to one side. A clever design, before the advent of the high capacity dingle -deck buses. The RT and RLH were such classic designs.

Why not a Zagato 412 or Beaufighter Beaufort with a normal coupe top like a Brigand Britannia?

I had an Atlantic back in 1966. It was white with a hard top and two doors. I bought it cheap and it cost me a fortune to run as it broke down every other day. But I loved it for those brief few weeks before I had to sell it for scrap. If only I had the money to save it.....

One of the prettiest cars ever designed and cleverly done, successfully incorporating that "coke bottle" wing line on such a short vehicle. IMO it was only surpassed by its bigger sibling, the Vauxhall Victor FD, a really beautiful car that still looks stunning today! So sad that this pair was never as ubiquitous as the Ford Escort Mk2 and Cortina Mk3 and so few of either remain today.

Bora won over the pantera!? Noice! Don’t get me wrong, I love both, it’s just that it does demonstrate that we can also make good v8s. The Pantera is a jewel too! ❤️🇮🇹

3:53 Loewy didn't design the 'Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawks of 1962-'64. That was an extensive redesign of the '56-'61 Hawk models bu Brooks Stevens, "The Seer Who Made Milwaukee Famous". Loewy assembled the team of Bob Andrews, John Ebstein, and Tom Kellogg to design the 1963 Studebaker Avanti. The Avanti was a true masterpiece, no exaggeration that it was the fastest production car in history up to that time (29 Bonneville speed records, many standing into the twenty-first century), and the most beautiful.

Good old cars! Not what you'd call 'sporty' in the conventional sense, but in Banger Racing in the seventies they reigned supreme. I recall hearing of one racer who winched the rear of his P4 up in the air and filled the box sectioned chassis members with liquid concrete!

It had major problem - Oil pump that was shit. Not Mk3 S1 but every 1.6 CVH ever made had this shitty oil pump that made the engine on high RPM's to go kaboom mode.

I had two of these the first time round. A late '97 in Mountain Rose which I resprayed red and grey and a two tone blue 1960. Lovely cars - except in my youth they didn't stop very well, the wheels stopped but the car went on sliding, I was a bit heavy on front wings. At 85 I have slowed down a bit now.

I’m real luxury car back in its day, and I remember many of them being chauffeur driven . But back in the 60s, that was quite a common thing with companies et cetera, always having a driver , now we think of it as a luxury status symbol
