The first time I heard this song I was shocked out of my brain. I totally did not expect she would transition to Apartheid South Africa. The second time I heard this, I was caught off-guard. Some girl had this playing from her ice-skating competition. Olympics? Maybe. Anyway, maybe the Gazans need a song like this.

I used to work with her sister, a journalist, in the '80s and went to her 'hometown Concert in Weymouth (Dorset, south coast of the UK). Never forgotten her version of Gasoline Alley and have never found a recording of it.
