I manage tech support for almost 100 telcos around the US. The price some people pay for stationary internet is absolutely incredible. The portability of this is what makes starlink worth it.
@pri3stburgess16813 күн бұрын
@karatlack4464 I'm in Australia and pay 65 a month for unlimited. I just think 90 bucks for 50 gig is a bit expensive considering we have pretty crap internet in Australia. Apparently our internet is the slowest in the world
@karatlack446413 күн бұрын
@ There's telcos that have fixed wireless internet and charge $60+ for 10Mbps/1Mbps. I get 1gig fiber (unlimited) for $80 because I live in a city. The thing about starlink is that not everyone needs it. Yea it's expensive to me and you but that's because we have better options for where we live. Rural folk would rather pay the $90 for 50meg than $60 for 10meg. Also, nomads are still a thing. People living out of a van can always have internet with starlink.

@mrtwomore4 ай бұрын
I assume the lid is open where the fan is. Most SSD enclosures will heat up but it sounds like yours is getting hotter than normal, as the enclosure is essentially a heat sink I would say in warmer environments it isn’t really sufficient compared to other SSD enclosures on the market. Cheers Ese

And they said in their websites and on their videos that they provide ssd!! Not directly means not by themselves own!
@Lunas25254 ай бұрын
You seemed to have compaired this to other external hard drives not to other enclosures that are on the market. I would have liked to see sabrent, orico, jeyi, dockcase 2230 enclosure options. I have dockcase, jeyi, and elecgear enclosures. All are about the same except none have that fan that pushes almost no air.
@elham74594 ай бұрын
Have you found any review that compares it other options? Been watching tons of reviews and still none of them. Dissipation coming from back of SSD board (not directly from SSD NAND or controller) with thermal pads attached to through enclosure board, then behind the enclosure board the fan blowing enclosure controller which not attached with heatsink fin whatsoever. But Sharge is quite reputable but 20°C degree claim is too bold. Cost about 4X than Jeyi which cools the SSD passively, but thermal pads attached directly to chassis that is fully aluminum. I really confident difference is barely worth it except in long-term load like transfering tons of data.
@Lunas25254 ай бұрын
@@elham7459 i own a dock case, jeyi, and elecgear. Enclosure all of them use a thermal pad and the outer case. They get quite warm to touch. Other wise work fine i have not done bench testing though. The elecgear is probably the one i would not buy if i could go back in time. It turns them into a regular thumb drive as it has a usb type a port but overall the construction is all metal and is very nice.

In pass-through charging mode, if the input power source is removed, does the output cut out or renegotiate? How about when input power is connected again? I'm wondering if this would be suitable for an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) scenario for a mini PC.
@mrtwomore8 ай бұрын
Hey Kevin, that’s a good question I’ll play around with it today and let you know. I have used it in a UPS style format which is quite useful for my video camera but as the battery was full on the camera battery I’m unsure if it actually maintained a constrain charge or briefly disconnected and then reestablished connection. So I’ll try it this evening with a light source that has no internal battery and see if it has a drop-off/disconnection between me removing the power source and the battery taken over on the power bank.
@mrtwomore8 ай бұрын
Okay after my rudimentary testing with a video light and also following up it up with testing my phone charging on it. I can confirm that if you remove the power input from the powerbank it WILL drop the charging on the output for about a second and then rehandshake it seems. So as a UPS I don't think that this is the option you want. Thanks Ese

The adjustable DC output is the only feature worth the price point of these batteries. I'm shocked no one makes a big deal out of that. I use that port just as much as I use the USB ports.
@mrtwomore9 ай бұрын
You know what? That is a really good point. I think I overlooked this as I didn't find this a useful aspect of the storm 2 personally but I should've included this point of difference, I can definitely see how useful it could be in certain situations! Thanks for making that point, Ese.
@falsedragon339 ай бұрын
I can see that. I suppose for most, usbc bridged all the gaps. But for a engineer or the ham radio type, that adjustable power allows you do do things that required a bench supply. So nice for portable troubleshooting. I wish it had constant current mode, but I try not to t to be too greedy.

I reviewed this recently. I really wanted to like it. It’s a nice, small, attractive drive, but the case design is awful - having to open the door to use etc. I get there’s no way round this but still. More concerning is the lack of reliability with Windows. It wasn’t detected half the time but works perfect on MAC. Ended up returning mine for refund in the end.

Huge thumbs up for this video, thank you. My AIO cooler failed and it is the replacement of the original. I think the QA on those is just too poor and they get contaminants in the liquid causing the pump to clog. So glad I watched this and did not.

Hey there, i liked the video, i prefer your calm way of speaking over the "loud" youtubers any day! But it feels like it's a bit short to be an in depth review, i'm missing the cold specs like what kind of fast charging do they provide, how do they split up power when multiple devices are charged, can you charge the bank with a device connected and does that change the charging rate of the device? Maybe it's because you've assumed we'd know that already or you forgot because you personally already got that information from other reviews of the powerbank. Other than the missing information (for me), I liked your approach of making those reviews, it was informative and detailed, perfect for someone who has read about the device, but looked for more information that will not be on their website. Have a good day!
