In the first game, always remember the opposition rule in King and pawn endgames. In the second game, always remember to take on e4 in such positions to stop white clamping down with e5. Apart from that, you're not a million miles away.

It's funny isn't it. When you are playing well, chess is easy. But when you are off form it is so hard to find the right move. Keep playing though! Your form will come back.

Extremely good video, showing the full spectrum of what it's like to grinding chess. P.S in the second game you missed ladder checkmate with the rooks. Its way simpler than tactically trying to win. I kindly suggest studying checkmate patterns with different pieces, the website you play chess on has copious lessons on it

wow, the eval bar in the reviewing session goes crazy up and down with those normal looking moves. it's even crazier the grandmasters can find the best move without the eval bar, and also their ability to punish every subtle mistakes their opponents make throughout the game.

In this game I was kinda thinking you would play d4 instead of d3 and put a lot of pressure on the center, but you played in a way that he might not have been as familiar with as you were so it's hard to say what the best practical decision was. I would however recommend learning systems where you play more aggressively against d6 openings, fun stuff imo.
@Jamie-Chess
@Jamie-Chess 17 күн бұрын
Yeah, looking back I could've had full control of the middle with d4. Appreciate the comment, I need to up my aggressiveness in some games, that's for sure!

Im not that much higher rated than you, only around 1850 rapid and 1706 for blitz, but at 11:46 id probably have considered King c2, it looks fairly safe and it simply just defends the b pawn so we can move our guys out to like c5 for example, it just seems like a drawback-free way to defend the b pawn, unlike your rook b1 move, which gave up the yummy a file

Hey I noticed you play 10 minute games, have you considered playing something like 10+5 or longer? Really takes the pressure off and most otb tournaments have at least +5 so it's good to get used to it.

I’ve played a few 15+10’s already on the channel. When I get back to 1700 I think I’ll get back to 15+10. Totally agree with the time pressure! I’d miss the 10 minute games though 🤔
