Susan Keith was the original Cecile on another world. I liked seeing her as Shana. Seeing Cecile and James from ATWT is pretty interesting. Plus seeing Susan Walter’s as Lorna her pre Diane days on the young and the restless is also pretty good as well also liked her on dear John. And Stacey who appeared in Friday the 13th part 2 actress Lauren Marie Taylor who also did the horror/slasher girls night out. Remember watching the movie version of loving back in 83

Ah, those Reaganite hypocrisies of the stain of abortion. 🙄 And the gratuitous shirtless hot priest flashing his hirsute chest at . . . who exactly? Heterosexual women and gay men? Soap, indeed.

And the show quickly realized that the guy playing Phillip had less acting talent than a brick. Suddenly, Phillip is sent back to Australia to live it up as a gay man and is barely mentioned thereafter. I always thought it was ironic that Kay, Jill and Nina mourned Phillip's death for over 20 years (frequently bringing him up) but, when they learn he is still alive, they forgot about all about him. From a creative angle, the show would have been better off if the writers had just left Phillip in the coffin in Kay's yard and not pursued this plot twist.

Isn't this the same Phillip who appeared as a ghost to Katherine when they had the intervention for her in 2004.

When they bring young actors into soaps, it usually doesn't matter if they can act, as long as they're gorgeous (especially the men). Sometimes, like Shemar Moore, they learn to act. I really liked Phillip and was disappointed that they killed him off. However, the character was not gay back then. There was no hint of it whatsoever. I would have been fine with it if they had. I just hate when they completely rewrite history, for whatever reason.

@@suzannelan There was hint of it... he kept talking about how he was "uncomfortable with girls", etc.. They even played a flashback clip from 1987 of him saying this.

He was fine in his first run. One of the big problems is they brought him back, and gave him ZERO instruction on the differences in the way the technical aspects of the show had changed since he was there the first time. Tricia Cast had to coach him on all that. And sometimes when an actor hasn't worked in a long time, they can get rusty, and it just takes some time to get back on their feet.

Such a perfect soap opera moment --- excellent acting, excellent drama, excellent music, and excellent shock value! These kind of longer scenes aren't around anymore. Now, we barely get 10 seconds before they jump to the next scene. No time to fully invest in the scene.
