Can you please tell me what the difference between Epoxy resin and UV resin. What would be the difference in it's use case?
@LittleWindowsResin10 күн бұрын
Hello @JonneytheKidd, the difference is the way they catalyze to turn from a liquid to a solid. With epoxy resins you mix 2 parts together, and a chemical reaction takes place, bonding Part As to Part Bs until a solid is formed. Epoxy resin chemistries differ greatly, from safety, to mix ratio, to recommended batch size, to set up time, to physical characteristics like how thick they can be applied, how workable they are, how hard they are when set, and how much they may discolor over time. You'll see a good range of what's possible with epoxy resin in our resin project library: www.little-windows.com/pages/how-tos UV resins are 1-part, but they need to be exposed to UV light to cure. They are not as versatile as epoxies, but they are good for quick, shallow projects. They also vary in different ways, including safety, cure time, cure hardness, and how quickly they discolor. I work with a proprietary epoxy called Brilliant Resin, the safest you'll find, because it gives me the versatility I need to create what I have in my mind using all sorts of techniques. Feel free to email any additional questions, I'm happy to help :) [email protected]

Hiii! So much inspired by your work! I'm trying to make this one but my design is a melting eye and my Teachers suggested to try it with resin art! But how can we use it without the mold and how should i give melting effect. Please help. I need it for my fashion show project. I'll be glad if you reply! Thankyou and keep doing what you do. 💯🙌
@LittleWindowsResin10 күн бұрын
Hello @shruti13__ wow, a melting eye? Hmmm is it just the eyeball or the flesh around it that's melting? If you want to email an image or sketch of what you're trying to do, I'll be happy to advise :) [email protected]

Great video thank you! Question, is there something I could put on my resin afterwards to prevent scratches or does this product do that as well? I just want to preserve my piece for as long as possible. :-)
@LittleWindowsResin10 күн бұрын
Hello @LauraPashayan! Not really, the only non-resin coatings I know of will either dull your piece, or yellow fairly quickly. The best thing is to use a quality resin that will cure hard enough to prevent much damage. Thanks for asking :) [email protected]

Hello @angiep5216! Our Brilliant Resin is a pure formula without plasticizers added, so the mix ratio is 2:1, whatever your batch size may be. This resin domes fabrics beautifully, creating shiny raised areas with smooth tapered edges. Have lots of fun creating :) [email protected]

I'm actually trying to figure out the best color mix for green jasper, so this is perfect. I'm doing some cheese knife handles, but wanted a visually interesting stone effect. This looks like the right direction after all! I might go a tad darker, then swirl in some brown. Maybe add tiny copper/brown flakes for that speckled effect. The turquoise looks cool, but maybe adding something that would behave like faux cracks would help sell the look.
@LittleWindowsResin18 күн бұрын
Oooooh I'd love to see how yours turn out! Please send pics to [email protected] Thank you @Miss_Aralys!

@@LittleWindowsResin I'm currently working on them this week. I realized that what I'm going for is bloodstone jasper, which is making this very fun. Because of the nature of the cheese handle molds, I've realized I need to pour at different parts, let it drizzle, etc. I might be a tad addicted now LOL.
@Miss_Aralys19 күн бұрын
Huh, they look like contact lens applicators. I never use them, but they've come in kits.
@LittleWindowsResin18 күн бұрын
Similar concept, but those have a wide flaring cup, and a wider handle so they can be hard to remove from resin.
