Krav Maga is an evolving system. I started training is 2003 under those with the founders’ diploma. I would love to see your ancient variation where you also don’t exhale when you strike. Not breathing sounds like a cool trick you could utilize more.

But very few people who teach kra maga tell the truth to their students. Because they are stupid instructors and they don't want it to be known that there are also instructors who teach the true martial art, UNMODIFIED. It is a great disrespect to claim that krav maga is the evolving systems. Is judo an evolving system? Aikido is..? No. Traditional martial arts are not like that. They are as their founders left them.

At 0:27, why would he let go of the gun? He could just hold on to the gun as you grab and tackle him, in fact his reflex would be to do so. When you are attacked, do you instinctively throw away what you are holding, or instinctively hold it tighter? Thought so.
@KravMagaDesoto Жыл бұрын
Because having a wooden training weapon slammed into your face as you hit the mat is asking a lot of a training partner.
@Jorge-np3tq Жыл бұрын
@@KravMagaDesoto He would hold the weapon to his chest as he falls. The only face in danger is the one of the victim once the attacker uses the stock of the weapon, still in his hands, to bash it in. When disarming you prioritize control of the weapon, not the body.

@@Jorge-np3tq Well, all I can tell you is I have been teaching Krav Maga since 2004. If there is a training injury to be had, I’ve probably seen it. I’ve seen a tooth knocked out from this technique with a plastic blue gun. I’m law enforcement and we train first responders. We will always put safety before making technical training LOOK cooler.
@KravMagaDesoto Жыл бұрын
@@Jorge-np3tq also, the context of that particular defense is a harnessed weapon where the regular disarm is not applicable. You can see the standard weapon defense elsewhere in the curriculum video.

@KravMagaDesoto Жыл бұрын
Red belt is reserved for the founder of Krav Maga, Imi Lichtenfeld. Yellow belt is the first level of curriculum that you are learning as a white belt. Krav Maga doesn’t utilize a purple belt. I have listed all curriculum to black belt. There are a few degrees of black belt curriculum that are more scenario based.

There should be more comments. This test is really long and arduous. Those who pass it have heart and endurance. You rock sir. I’m training toward brown. It’s been 5 years since my last one and I’m out of shape and nervous. Should I continue or just start BJJ? I’m 40.
@KravMagaDesoto Жыл бұрын
Thanks Jonathan. I think rank really just comes down to your personal journey. If you plan to teach Krav Maga then it is a necessity. If Krav Maga is a hobby, it really comes down to you. At my gym, we don’t hold curriculum back so there isn’t much of a push to rank. I am also a black belt in BJJ. I’ve been training both for 20+ years. At this point in my career I train Jiujitsu to Krav Maga at about a 80/20 ratio. Jiujitsu takes a lot more consistency to keep up with the trends and to stay sharp. Because of Krav Maga’s instinctive nature I feel like I can be more relaxed in my training. Ultimately, follow what you enjoy. If you were a lower rank we would be discussing purpose, but at this level it’s more about enjoyment because you should have the self defense ability at this point. That’s my two cents anyways.

Very good video, I asked my instructor to help me get to black belt by end of 2023, although I have lower-back problems so some of the ground stuff here will be difficult for me, I think (as it's his own federation) we may be able to find a solution. But even though he knows KM of course, this video can become a framework for me to work with over the year. Thanks!!!!

Sus técnicas están bien definidas y muy bien ejecutadas y además las muestra desde diferentes ángulos para los espectadores con lo que me hace pensar que debe de ser un excelente instructor en su docencia. un saludo
