I was doing good until precycle first week before cycle started, I’m unable to stick to ADF tried Omad still hungry and cranky. So eating longer window and plan to go to Omad or 20:4 not 23:1 during cycle then back to ADF after cycle. But I love ADF. Once I tried it out I’m like I don’t want to go back to old ways. I don’t enjoy Omad. ADF or longer windows daily work for me is what I hope to stick to.

Hello!!! I just discovered your channel and I’m so happy I found you! I have been doing ADF for 22 weeks now. I have lost nearly 50 lbs out of 100+ lbs I need to lose. Your videos have motivated me to want to share my journey as well. I relate so much to you because we have the same fasting schedule and everything you talked about in this video resonates with me. Every single one of the points you made I have experienced!! Poop talk. I am 22 weeks in and if I don’t break my fast gently I’ll spend half the day in the toilet. I usually break my fast with a couple of hardboiled eggs before my big meal, or a beef stick, wait around 45 min to an hour before digging in. This also helps prevent the diarrhea. The last part that you shared about people not understanding your journey and why you chose to do it, it’s so true. I have tried ADF at least three times in the last and I always gave up after month one because people were always sharing their opinion about what I was doing and that made me doubt myself. I’m so motivated to continue, I have a couple of concerts coming up and I’m going to be jumping around in the pit and wish to lose at least 20 more pounds before then! I’m looking forward to the next video on this series!

I am on a one year fitness journey. On January 16, 2024, I committed myself to either 1 year of fitness or 100 lbs weight loss. It doesn’t matter to me which one I succeed in, it’s just something I wanted to do for myself. I started IF in March and later started ADF in June. I was excited to lose weight rapidly like some have reported but that was not my case, but then again it may be too early to tell. In June, I lost 11lbs, I was so stoked, so much I committed myself to the ADF life for the rest of the year. That was until I met July. I stalled for 22 days, no weight loss at all. I was sad, experienced a fit of anger every other day I stepped on the scale and didn’t see a change. While, there has not been a scale victory, I can say, I slimmed down. My face totally de-puffed, I can see my jaw line coming in. I went from a size 14 to 12. And my forever distended belly is finally starting to relax; also I’m not bloated, like ever. My BP is normal and overall, I feel great, like really good better than I’ve felt in the last 4 years. My point is, I have experienced scale victories and non scale victories on ADF, be prepared for both because you don’t know which one you will get. Stay the course even when you feel like you’re not winning because you will get rewarded for your effort.

U might already be doing this with ADF, but something that has helped me lose weight fast is that when I break my fast I don't eat again So instead of having an eating window of x amount of hours, I break my fast, eat one time, and hit the timer as soon as I finish my last bite I dont snack or have another meal tldr: ADF for me is 40 - 50 hours of fasting, one meal, repeat

I totally relate to food being so entangled with our culture. I am Arab, so food ( and in large quantities ) is present for every event; small or big. We even have a kinda of unwritten rule that if a child is sad the mother offers french fries and fried eggs to cheer her kid. So now that I am working my way to ADF, I found it so hard to abstain from eating while still living with my parents. Even just doing OMAD was hard to make them understand and accept it. And it's even worse at work because we all gather up for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea, so I always find myself making excuses to avoid eating with them but they keep asking ( it will create an even bigger problem for me if I say that I am fasting )

I have PCOS too and on top of that hypothyroïdism... so losing weight normally is litterally impossible. Just like you I start losing, then plateau and then gain it all. I lost motivation so many times. So ADF it is, so far im down 13lbs, the most I ever lost without much effort. Thank you so much for sharing. Gonna stick around your journey!! ❤❤

Hello, I know you said in your previous videos that you do gum and heavy whipping cream. Are there any other foods or even supplements you take while fasting? Also how tall are you and about how many calories do you think you intake on your feeding days. Do you overly indulge and eat whatever you want including carb heavy foods on feast days?
@cyrakirsten
@cyrakirsten 4 ай бұрын
Hi! No, I normally just bring Stevia (pure stevia leaf - I get mine from Whole Foods) to work and do a dropper or a half with my large green tea or iced americano with the tiniest splash of heavy cream. I am refraining from gum now because I've read that it spikes insulin but only use it if it's really difficult to keep fasting. I am 5ft2in and I honestly do not count calories accurately but if I had to guess I would say about 2000? I would say we don't necessarily eat carb heavy food at home but I do try to have a good balance of carbs, protein and fiber. But for the most part, I eat what I want within reason. Like I do not just eat donuts and ice cream every time I feast, but I do eat treats here and there.

I’ll be doing my first fast day tomorrow. I’ve only ever done a 16hr fast. Do you have any tips or activities that help you get through the day? I think the hardest times for me will be around noon and 8pm when I usually sit and watch tv with my bf
@cyrakirsten
@cyrakirsten 4 ай бұрын
I struggle with this sometimes and really just keeping myself occupied is the best way to beat the hunger, boredom, munchy feeling. I like to take this time to do a good shower routine and do self-care activities, edit videos, or sleep. Around noon when everybody else is eating, I bring a carbonated water/coffee/tea to lunch with co-workers. I've resorted to watching TV only feast days only now or if do it, I watch TV away from when my bf eats dinner. Thankfully, he keeps himself busy at home too so we don't typically sit around and watch TV every night.

@@cyrakirsten tbh I was in university at the time and it was really hard to avoid eating around friends, also the on campus food was really hard to track. Those are all excuses obviously but it just got hard to keep up with people thinking you got an eating disorder cause you don't want to eat with them. Next year I'll be living off campus with my own kitchen so I can't wait to cook for myself and be able to cook.
@cyrakirsten

@@iclandiccubicle2798 those are very valid and practical reasons. Quite honestly, I don't think I would've been able to do ADF in school. It's very difficult to socially integrate and not a lot of people understand it - or are willing to understand it because it is something they would never do. That's exciting living off campus next year! I hope you have a lot of fun! Enjoy uni - it's literally the best! Wish I could go back!!! Adulting sucks lol 😭
