I got confused and did the final torque to 20nm on all the bolts. Is this ok still? Or should I loosen up all the shorter t40 bolts down to 14nm and leave the longer t45 20nm. Since it has metal gasket and it’s been compressed 6nm more is the gasket compromised and cannot be reused?

great Video !!!are the 8m bolt all the same length . i have a long 8mm left and all bolts are accounted for on the MW and oil filter housing i had to remove :/ unless ther is a add long 8m that ties with the turbos tubs or some shit ,

Great video. Several remarks. 1. No need to mark everything, especially fly wheel position, you simply can not put it wrong way. 2. Altough maint. manual requires to change back plate with seal, I would not change it. We can not use better sealant than in factory. Seal is possible to remove with ease using the screw and screwdriver not damaging anything. 3. Before installing new seal you should clean and degrease cranckshaft and back plate areas when seal rests. 4. Also crancshaft should be thoroughly checked for possible grooves from old seal and if they exist, you should try to install new seal deeper (1-2mm) than old one to avoid those groves (thankfully there is plenty of space.), otherwise new seal leaks 100%. 5. When you installing PTFE seals (like the one on MB), you should wait at least 4 hours before starting the engine, after installation, to give the time to seal receive appropriate shape on cranchshaft and tighten itself.

Great video, I love that tool. I have used it in the same way with plaster and drywall nothing worked better. Especially with the vacuum attachment hardly any dust.

Great video! Quick question. I have a 2015 Volkswagen Passat with the gen 3 1.8EA888 engine. So I been battling this misfire on cylinder 3. I have done coils, spark plugs, injector and also did an intake cam. After all those parts still getting a misfire on 3. I did a compression test and all cylinders are at 180psi respectably. Any suggestions?

I’m currently battling a misfire on cylinder #3 on my 1.8 gen 3. I did a compression test on all cylinders and they are all at 180 psi. I have no other codes except for p0303. With my obd11 I checked the misfire recognition and it is in fact number 3 that’s misfiring consistently. Could it be a safe diagnosis be an injector issue?

You forgot to show how to pop the airlines off. My seats sometimes they work sometimes they don't. I think I have an air leak somewhere, But I'm scared to pop the lines Cause I don't want to break them And I don't know how to pull them off.

As an engineer re-engineer specialist (a non-engineer who has to correct poor engineering) I am very curiously intrigued about this issue and cause. It's very "easy" to say it's due to cheap plastic issue....but that's vague. Are people dumping photos of these failures for reference anywhere by chance? I'm wondering if there really is a single root cause or multiple causes. Engine bay heat trapped by the engine cover, torque issues on filter housing, or engine moving after mount failure allowing that corner area to hit nearby components...etc.

I'm so glad you showed both the old and the newer m278 because I have the newer and was kind of confused about what the hell that diverter valve actually was. Just had the water pump and the diverter valve plastic ends fail and now I know exactly what it takes to fix them.

For this particular porsche I believe 2010 and up with sport plus or turbo you need to fill the air tank (air suspension accumulator) with nitrogen 5 (nitrogen gas) only for the sport plus performance when you drive over 100 miles per hour or force the car to maximum horsepower the gas will keep suspension ride tight and a fast acceleration suspension adjust that’s the factory purpose of this system and yes you can mix it with the normal air that compressor builds . This is only for high performance driving .. if you driving below 100mph or at normal highway drive in comfort mode or sport mode no need nitrogen5 car can be driving perfectly fine with atmospheric air pressure.

Sorry for the typos in the last comment. The hole you can see in the metal motor housing is functional. it fits over a plastic pin on the outer housing base. What did you do to keep the motor in place? the only way to get the motor to fit in the housing is to break off the pin...I'm hoping you can help..

Im doing the same job....the holes in the original mptor housing hold it in place , the fit ovrr a pin sticking out of the plastic base. What did you do to keep the motor in position??
