Fun fact the reason why Theseus ended up trapped in Hades was because he and his buddy Pirithous thought it would be a good idea to go down to the underworld and carry Persephone off so Pirithous could her his bride. Well Hades was having none of it and glued their asses to the rocks they were sitting on and then sent out the Furies to torment them. When Hercules found them he was able to free Theseus by pulling him so hard that the skin from his ass was torn off. However when he tried free Pirithous the ground shook because Hades refused to let him off for trying to steal his wife.
