Excellent setup! What’s the interior height of the trailer and how tall are you?
@Cornerstonecontractors23 сағат бұрын
@MarkReed-gc8ed i am 5-10. I think it's 6ft.
@MarkReed-gc8ed21 сағат бұрын
@@Cornerstonecontractors Thank you for the quick response. I am in the process of setting up a 6x12 tandem axle with 6’ ceiling height. I am 5’10” also and the rear door opening on the trailer is 5’7”. I know I’ll have to duck down under the rear door opening just don’t want to bang my head while inside. Would love to go taller height but the trailer would not fit through my 8’ overhead garage door and I really want to store the trailer in my garage. Have you found the 6’ ceiling height to be an issue for you? I really appreciate your taking the time to share your video and your time!
@Cornerstonecontractors21 сағат бұрын
@MarkReed-gc8ed yeah. Mine is to tall to get into the garage. I also added ladder racks on the top and side now. Next round I'll get the 6x12 tandem. I think that's the perfect size. Small enough to get around and park yet big enough to carry everything and not worry about overloading the weight. Thanks for the questions. Good luck with yours! It's great investment.

Good tip! I see your adhesive grooves align with the shortest side of the tile to let the air escape. Brilliant!

You need to watch to the end to see the LVLs going in. Great post for those looking to hire a real contractor. 5 stars!
@HungryWallaceАй бұрын
Why didnt you sandwich 2 layers of 3/4 inch plywood into that? It would of made it so much stronger. Do you not worry about snowload? Took a better look those just boards still, hopefully you add plywood as well.
@Schism75Ай бұрын
The 3 LVL’s are the thickness he needs and are engineered to carry that load.
@CornerstonecontractorsАй бұрын
Not sure i follow what your saying but what was there before was completely lethal. The 2x8 header was Extended by adding 2x8s on the end with no overlap or support. We removed all the 2x8s and replace them with 16" Lvls inside wall cavity to wall cavity. The beam was spec' by the engineering department of a local lumber yard and is approved for the snow load. Hope that explains.
@chrisford8403Ай бұрын
@HungryWallace, not trying to pile on or beat you up, but the purpose of the plywood used in a beam made up of dimensional lumber is to act as a spacer. IIRC, an old engineer told me a rule of thumb that plywood adds about 10% more stiffness, adding another 2x to the beam adds 20% and upsizing to the next 2x width can add 50% to stiffness. LVL's come in sizes that do not require the use of a spacer and almost always out perform dimensional limber when designed and installed correctly.
@CornerstonecontractorsАй бұрын
@chrisford8403 in this case the 2x8s had to go. The previous contractor had a bunch of shiplap covering up the spot where he broke out the "beam stretcher." 😀 The Triple LVL was the only way the engineers would even spec me a beam.
@Schism75Ай бұрын
@@Cornerstonecontractors I had a similar experience to this on a 2nd story ceiling support header. Had a 3” sag by the time homeowner acted on it. I ended up notching ceiling joists to slip in a double 18”lvl and re attaching joist to the lvl . Worked like a charm.

Where is your power supply station?
@Cornerstonecontractors7 ай бұрын
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that, but there is a double battery charging station on the end of the top left cabinet near the gate. The trailer itself just plugs into an extension cord. If your reference is to some kind of solar setup, I have definitely looked into it. Would only fit 4 panels on the roof. 450 watts each would give me an 1800-watt system. Not enough to charge batteries and power the fridge or run a tool. The battery backup would be way too heavy and too much space to make it feasible, so the only option is a generator. If we start nailing down some off grid jobs, I'll have to get one. Thanks for the comment.
@trawk2447 ай бұрын
@alexanderannunziata7734 ooooooh I'm so dumb I didn't pay attention to the cord in the beginning. I thought your trailer was powered by some kind of battery/inverter set up.

Each service will have its own listing or they can mix and match. 4 sold and don't even have the platform yet.

13:08 - Very smart to incorporate other people's proven ideas like the tape measure and tape holders and Ron Paulk shelving system makes this a smart trailer. Admire the time you invested to make this happen - I learned sketch-up and feel I have a decent handle on it after about 300 hours or use! Also, impressed with the outlets inside & out and the sink - for a cleaning station. Really nice not to have to pick & choose what you 'think' you will need and just haul the trailer preloaded.

Thank you. Much appreciated. Definitely lots of time in research and learning the tools to get the job done. It's definitely a rolling jobsite. Drop it and the guys then run for materials.

BEST TRAILER I HAVE SEEN online or in person - puts the rests to shame! Like a BOSS - when I saw the rolling wheels on the shelf / door - don't need more strength for the small light brushes, supplies, etc. Also, TAPE roll dispenser - simple and holds a lot and VISUAL - just look up and there is all the tape - and you standardized on blue tape. For the cordless tools - cut a slot on the top - drop a bar from the top to lock in tools and attach a string - lift bar, let go - or from bottom - add a magnet.

Awesome job! Love the work friendly design. I have basically the same trailer. I’m planning on doing something similar. My trailer is also a single axle, are you concerned about weight? Have you weighed yours full? I got a deal on my trailer as well, still wished I had held out for tandem axle due to weight concerns. I’ll be hauling mine back n forth long distances (800 miles). Great job and I would love your thoughts on it and making everything lighter 👍
@Cornerstonecontractors Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment, and yes, I have definitely had some concerns with weight. I have not weighed it full, but it's definitely over. I plan on putting a new axle with 5 leafsprings. It should give me a little room to wiggle, but all in all, when I do it again, I'll go with a 6x12 tandem or 6x14 tandem. Anything bigger is too hard to get in and out of sites, plus finding parking can be a challenge. The tandem axles should give me the additional capacity I need.....lol 😆
@MuskyUtube96 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! The weight is the reason I’ve decided to go with multiple mobile tool cases I can mount to walls (packout etc). Should really keep weight down and when I sell trailer I can just mount in shop! Great work 👍
