I bought the Seagate Skyhawk surveillance HDD to upgrade my Reolink NVR, I was happy when I opened up the NVR to see that the drive inside already was a Skyhawk. That has been working fine for around 18m or so, so I'm confident the larger drive will also give me good performance.

Unfortunately the subscription model is just pure greed given the actual hardware already isn't cheap. We wanted to use these as remote security cameras on sites all around the UK but the sheer cost per month on multiple cameras for what is really very little access is absolutely nuts. If you want a couple of cameras on sites where nothing happens then it might work, but for if you want 10 cameras on a site it just gets stupid. There are other options out there that you can literally throw your own SIM into and the cost to run them is then down to the best deal you can find. A 7 day trial on a camera that costs £300 plus is pointless because if after the trial you think it's rubbish, you literally have a camera that cannot be used without it.

We’ve changed the batteries in our motion cam and now it’s not working. The LED sensor doesn’t do anything unless it’s in test mode. Do you know if it’d be a good idea to reset the whole thing? Everything looks ok apart from the system saying the lid is open (it isn’t) Trying to troubleshoot and it’s driving me crazy! 🤪

I don't share your vision regarding the solar panels. My solar panels last as long as my camera, and other, devices. I am more concerned about the camera itself getting water ingress, fogging up of the lens or even the camera sensor getting damaged. Regarding the physical damage of the solar panel and the camera itself I totally agree. Cameras and cables/solar panels should always be mounted in a way that makes them less prone to accidental or even malicious damage

I will have different cameras surveying difference sides of the property where the LEFT and RIGHT beams are shooting and am hoping that the scenario can be customised to the relevant sensor in the case of the Curtain? A lot of latency between capture and notify. Like 15-30 seconds in seeing on mine. And at night there's an annoying halo on my captures. Not cool
