Here in America many uncles will raise their voice in defiance like "huh?! Who does this person think he is telling me something?!" Yes sometimes people agree and say thanks, but in my experience i have to trust my gut feeling when looking at that person to see if theyll take advice or not. Many dont have the emotional capacity to digest anything new anymore

You should apply the Quran in that situation : surah (Al -ala) 87:9 فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ ٩ So ˹always˺ remind ˹with the Quran˺-˹even˺ if the reminder is beneficial ˹only to some˺. 87:10 سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ ١٠ Those in awe ˹of Allah˺ will be mindful ˹of it˺. 87:11 وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى ١١ But it will be shunned by the most wretched, If you think someone might benefit from the reminder then remind.

(11)Chapter: The Prophet (saws) used to take care of the people in preaching by selecting a suitable time so that they might not run away (never made them averse or bored them with religious talk and knowledge all the time) (11)باب مَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَتَخَوَّلُهُمْ بِالْمَوْعِظَةِ وَالْعِلْمِ كَىْ لاَ يَنْفِرُوا Narrated Ibn Mas`ud: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to take care of us in preaching by selecting a suitable time, so that we might not get bored. (He abstained from pestering us with sermons and knowledge all the time). You should also select a proper time to give advice.

The sheikh understood the question. He's simply listing the valid reason to not pray at masjid. As for the cold sickness if it has no impact on ur daily life then it's not valid excuse to skip prayer in masjid.

I stopped going to madrasah because my Quran teacher always flogged me. They would beat you to the point where you’ll get so much marks. I hated my teachers so much. I promised myself that if I’ve a child I’d never take them to madrasah. I’ll learn Islam myself and teach my children myself. It’s so common in Nigeria where they beat children of the age of 5 to the point where the child is injured or falls sick.

You know what they say, don’t bring a knife to a gun fight, same is true for a bow and arrow. Out of all seriousness a gun is your best bet at self defense, and a criminal or enemy will not wait for you to draw and shoot a bow and arrow, by the time you do that you will be Swiss cheese.

Lets imagine there was consensus of niqab being mustahabb and not obligatory... Which man in his right mind would command his wife to take off a cloth and show her face?????? I really hope there is a good reason behind it, otherwise this Ummah is so lost.

There can be many scenarios and each have their own issues respectively. Not all are having the same level of courage and strength to speak up regarding matters of heart in front of parents while many does. In South Asian countries parents generally force their children for marriage and even physically abuse their children if they try to speak their minds. It's difficult and different for all. But no matter what, the man ( Especially) in question needs to have courage in matters like marriage. He is no more a child. Even women. It's not dark days anymore. Efficient communication and interaction needs to be there amidst all. But practically almost no one takes stand for themselves/ their partners and ends up ruining everything.

I would have appreciated if sheikh would have explained nuch better way for a layman how to differentiate what to take what not to take from a scholar who made mistakes in aqeedah. Because layman are not aqware of their nistakes they will accept everything. I liked the answer of ibn uthaymeen ra about asharis. What sheikh said about ibn hajr and imam nawawi may be we can accept but not for every daee unfortunately in that case stick to traditional scholars.

She's taking care of him better than his abusive parents and would even feed him his food and also plays around with his cheecks all day. It depends on the woman.
