Stainless steel hemos are my favorite to use the regular pliers to big and lunkie. I do not use braided line I tried it in the early 90's and never again. Monofilament line has not let me down like braided line don't Ker about how strong it is not worth the money. Only go neoprene cover's reel or rodß Nice job on the video guys.

@@granvillej3316 we don’t typically go out once the nights get well below freezing. Especially on kayaks it’s a rough time. In our area it really doesn’t get cold enough anymore to safely ice fish so we don’t really do it. Hey everybody so two things. Yes, that was the final fishing video in the 2024 Fishing Season, thank you all so much for watching this year and we will be making a best moments video on this season that will be coming soon. Also, I again apologize for the audio issues in this video. They sounded better while editing and I hope you all still enjoyed. The camera I was using had no wind reduction built into it which usually helps with that jacket noise and obviously wind noise. Some great things coming!

Always SUCKS when a BIG bass misses your bait, you've seen it, and it doesn't return. Been there, done that. Did you try flipping a soft plastic back in her direction? Large worm, creature bait or a tube typically may do the trick. Usually, they'll strike a slower presentation after a fast-moving bait. Especially in the cooler water temps. You're so young brother, MANY MORE big fish opportunities coming your way for sure!!!

Nice video brother, really brought out the beauty of SNIPPY. Keep putting in the time there, lots of big fish in there. Especially in the smaller, deeper pond, which we call Black Pond that connects. The tree lines with steep drop-offs can really spit some big fish. Pre-spawn and the fall are especially dangerous for that fishery. Good luck out there!!! And yes, ANY DAY FISHIN', regardless of the results, is a GREAT DAY!!! BEATS WORK, LOL!!!

I was really Wondering about the strength of the front handle, especially if a winch is used to pull the 'Yak back onto a trailer...! I've been pondering using a "U-Bolt" for a bow eye (Stainless Steel, of course) with a decent sized backing plate on the inside of the bow a few inches down from the top deck (picture a "Boat" with a bow-eye for the winch hook). The plastic should be thick enough, as long as there is a substantial backing plate on the inside of the hull. (More on that, later...If I go that route - that is! I've made boats before from plywood, and ALWAYS "beefed" them up in the bow area!). Lol
@UntamedOutdoorsmenАй бұрын
Just something I wanted to add to this video: It seems many people do not have that middle cut out in the front handle. Not sure when they changed it. If you don’t have it it’s no big deal, just take a screwdriver and unscrew the handle, add the sliders, and reinstall the handle. Maybe 15 seconds of extra work. Also, this handle is not technically advertised as a “winching” handle. It’s probably much safer now to winch with it, but still not technically its main purpose. There is warranty concern with winching, if it breaks from doing that, it’s not covered under your warranty. So do that at your own risk.

To anyone considering buying a Garmin, know this. These units do not have a slot for a map card. To get any kind of maps you have to use the Garmin app, "ActiveCaptain" and download maps that other users might've have created. But, those users also have to upload their own maps to the site, before they're available to you. And if no one with the Garmin mapping feature has mapped the area you want and uploaded it, you're our of luck! That's also the ONLY way to get and install updates for your unit. Here's the rub, if your phone browser isn't new enough it won't support the app and there's no way to upgrade your browser. You literally HAVE to buy a new phone to use the app and update your unit! This would've been a deal breaker for me if I had known all this BEFORE purchasing my unit!
