the ONLY thing i didn't like about these 3 parts is kageyama's character design and personality modification. he was tame in middle school, sure, but not THIS tame. the most we see of kageyama in middle school is first year, when oikawa was there, and third year, with hinata. clearly, oikawa's in aoba johsai, and 2nd year we don't know much so we can only assume a third year timeline. plus, based on the edits and the reactions, it seems like the abandonment match has already taken place, so this would even be well after the match with hinata's junior high. we can conclude from that, kageyama's personality is VERY different then and even now than it is in the video. his character design as well. he's tall, around iwaizumi's height, taller than kunimi, three inches shorter than kindaichi, and an inch shorter than oikawa. here, i could see hinata being the same height as him. why's he so tiny? and also the king in his hair. stylistic choice, i get it, but even his uniform is overdone. like some kind of male kawaii outfit on pinterest. kageyama's the furthest from being 'kawaii'. sorry for making such an extensive comment about this, but i'm going to extend it a bit further to address my third point. his personality. especially amidst the atsumu edits. when the system tells the group that atsumu's the best high school setter in japan, kageyama's grateful for getting to meet him?? that's hinata type shit, not kageyama type shit. it's like hinata's personality but erase the optimism and put in emo and you've got the personality kageyama has in this video. it's nothing like the actual character. kageyama would either react with a competitive spark, or a desire to learn from watching him. he wouldn't care about just 'meeting atsumu wooohoo'. also, in the earlier videos, kageyama cries. a lot. which is interesting, because in the anime, he doesn't cry. he shows emotion, and even then it's in an implicit way mainly just viewers and hinata can understand. he doesn't - actually he NEVER outright cries. that weirded me out heavily. he's over emotional, over angsty, over cutesy, and over short. none of which sounds like kageyama. (i mean he's angsty, but in an angry way, not in a sad way. that's the whole point of his character. he gets his emotions across through anger - yk - his whole character arc?) i dont mean this as hate, i like the framing and editing. and the other characters seem fine - though kindaichi's kind of over dramatic. he's always been a bit non-confrontational to me considering it took him till late into the tournament and even through their junior high lives for him to finally reject kageyama. i just mean all this as feedback. (im haikyuu obsessed, sorry)
