The best all around shortstop of all time in my opinion best wishes nomar

He was such a great player , I can't believe he turned down a 60 million dollar offer and he could have finished his career as a Red Sox and had his number retired and he probably would have had a couple rings to boot , he made such a terrible decision to turn down a wonderful offer to stay in Boston , oh well what could have been , it's a shame how the rest of his career went but unfortunately things like this happen when we make bad decisions in life the Red Sox offer was tremendous I can't believe he turned it down I bet he wishes he could have that decision back , I don't think he came close to making the 60 million he would have made in just 4 more years with the Sox

Met him at an old nightclub in Boston called Il Panino. Coolest dude ever. Just sat there at the bar and had the most natural conversation.

The weight room ruined his career. And I am not suggesting PEDs. Lifting stressed his tendons which led to the injuries that derailed his HOF career. Damn it!!!!

U can say soreness from regular everyday workouts n runs as well as THAT one motorcycle spill before the others smaller or so but bottom line proof of him leaving it ALL out on the stage night after night after night ESPECIALLY the trifecta of classic masterpieces n where the "ESB Sound" was born n solidified albums #3,4 n 5 my favorite #5. Those 3 World Tours the most grueling of them all n yes u can say obviously BITUSA World Tour for it's mammoth undertaking June 84'-October 85' n the super mass appeal but even. That tour was not to the level of the ones I mentioned. For BtR the intimate Club n such settings plus the make or break aspect of it. DOTEOT the move up from 500-1,500 seats to 3,000-5,000 seat Halls n Theatres with the court case behind n the raw passion n intensity. But to me the peak n the one that changed it all The River World Tour. 20,000 seat Hockey n BBall Arenas multiple nites 30 song setlist 4 hour shows (yes with intermissions) that one although the previous were make or break ppl forget no real commercial success before River. After River he was with Columbia for life n they had punched their HoF ticket. The incredible success album sales at 2 million plus worldwide n Top 10 in multiple countries n 4 weeks #1 USA it was those tours where the hobble n limp n horrible knees were gotten n earned. After that it was more choreographed as well as ezier on the performances but 3-5 u couldn't stop them or him especially and as he said , with nowhere to go after concerts AND NOONE to go back to, the ease off the offstage depression n loneliness n anxiety made it such that he figured I'll die out there bc that's all I'll have or ever have. Completely in the moment. The hardest thing to do in life is remain completely in the moment in the now in this very second at all times. NO LIMBO absolutely in the here n now. Outside of one or two other keys, that one how do u stay there question is the secret to life. Maybe not the only secret BUT definitely imho the most important key to an impactful life. If able to do so. As Jordan called it being in the zone but Again, if able to do so n I boldface the IF then u will either accomplish all u set out to ever do or u will have zero wasted moments in ur life. Somewhat like living with a death wish.i felt it in Iraq n been chasing it ever since. Living as if ur time is up somewhere in the next 5 minutes very hard to do. The second that just past is gone do waste time chasing it or reflection on it n the one to come u can chase but will never catch so onlu this one now matters.hard.

It’s pretty simple: I was born in 1992. Nomar is the reason I got into baseball and became a Red Sox fan. Simply the best there was until injuries caught up with him. But always the greatest for me.

I met Nomar in 99 in an elevator of a hospital of all places, he was getting his wrist worked on after a playoff game. It was me and my dad in there. We were shell shocked. He was so cool, he just initiated a conversation with us, shook my dads hand, gave me a high five. Total class.

Watching this made me very happy. I got to see Nomar play with the Sox twice before he was traded. Would have loved to have been there that night, but was busy studying for finals that night in the neighboring town of Auburndale.

Glad to see someone out there actually has intelligence. I love when joe-nobodies that have zero-to-none sports knowledge makes a comment as such. It is sad to see great careers cut short, always leaves you thinking "what if?".

Don't bother responding to an obvious troll. Sometimes, injuries ruin what would be a great career for players like Nomar, Griffey, Wood, Prior, etc...
@jimamimas11 жыл бұрын
So being involuntarily injured is fraud? I guess that makes Mo Vaughn a fraud, Ken Griffey Jr a fraud, Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Jeff Bagwell and every other star that's gotten hurt also frauds. You are clearly very smart.

Alot of Yankee fans hate hearing this but if you look at the numbers from when nomar and jeter were rookies...nomar was the better shortstop all around, he just got overshadowed by jeter bc jeter had the rings. Had Nomar not been so injury prone..I think he could have been the greatest shortstop of all time..regardless Nomar will live on as an icon in Boston forever
