Thanks for this VoicePlay reaction and analysis. My favorite group! Be sure to read what Layne did in the closed captions when "Scar" roars at the hyenas. Mykal was a founding member when VoicePlay was originally formed and named 4theLove, and a barbershop quartet. He left them early on for a successful career on Broadway. Our guys are extremely creative perfectionists...they don't know how to do anything halfway. No duds on their channel!

Thank you for the entertaining and enlightening reaction! I love all the little acting details in this one, from the hilarious "no thoughts, head empty" salute Cesar pulls off (100% true to the animated movie) with the background "ha ha ha" sounds evoking hyena laughter, and Layne's blink-and-you'll miss it "fear beatboxing" expressions while on tippy-toes, to the way Geoff shifts between Scar's "affably evil", "cold-blooded schemer" and "barely contained scorn and rage" moods in movements, expressions and voice so fluidly. Those G1's and A1's are terrifying and gorgeous, befitting a lion. Great arrangement and on-point vocal percussion from Layne, amazing harmonies and interplay between Mykal (WOW!), Cesar and Eli. Everyone brought their A-game vocals-wise - and it looks like they had a ton of fun doing it.

Fun Fact. Jorge has instruments assigned to certain characters. ie, Athena is piano Ody is guitar (notice when it is acoustic and transitions to electric guitar, increasingly distorted to represent the hardening of the character or the softness of him in a specific moment) Also, that light guitar you loved was also the “Full Speed Ahead” melody. Lots and LOTS of Easter eggs and callbacks like that. so happy you are enjoying!

🎉Hi this is some info about 🎉 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 EPIC : THE MUSICAL 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 So this is a musical about the oddessy. It tells the story of Odysseus after the troy war. This musical is made by Jorge Revera Herrans. He does the composition production and lyricism. He started working on it since almost 5 years now. It's made in 9 sagas ( please correct me if I'm wrong) and every Saga has three to five songs each. What you just watched were 2 songs. The first two songs of the first Saga, called the Troy Saga. Which also means you are in the beginning of the story. The animatics that you watched are actually made by fans. So not everything is canon. The fandom is full of visual artists who make their own interpretation of the songs. We the fans are called : '' winions '' Here are some examples of visual artists like, We have : Gigi (the animator you just watched) Anniflama, Neal illustrator, and Gwendy.... And the list is long. Jorge or Jay or even Mr. Jalapeño, has made collaborations with some visual artists. Where he gave them parts of the songs and tells them how to animate it. I loveee your appreciation of all the small little details in this musical! It makes me appreciate it so much more. Just a little comment about Athena. In this musical, she has an ability called "quick thought" which is signified by the ticking clock and that electrical whooshing. She basically pulls a person into a mindscape of sorts to have these convos in a manner of seconds. The piano plays a significant role during these times, too, since it is her instruments in Epic. I can't wait to see your reaction to the next saga!!

I'll never get over how much Epic refers back to previous songs. It's such a great element of the storytelling which helps to interconnect everything together, and it's so prevalent that Remember Them actually has a motif in it that calls FORWARD to a song in a future saga which is one of the most consequential motifs for signalling that Odysseus is taking the gloves off and holding nothing back when dealing with enemies.

I really love how you break down the music and get so excited about it. Especially in pointing out how musical choices enhance certain moments or create the atmosphere of the song. I never considered before how the music in 'my goodbye' flows, but it *does* and it works so well. I feel like it kind of shows how well odysseus and athena have worked together, can work together, despite this basically being their break up song. It was a really cool touch I never considered before, but now have and really love. I'm looking forward to future episodes because there is so much this musical has to offer and I can't wait to see you dive into it.

Loving the videos as always!! Jorge love’s referencing the past songs specifically different ideology. You’ll see the main conflict of the musical is Odysseus’s conflict of something you’ll learn more in the next saga Ocean Ruthlessness and Open Arms basically man decides how far he’ll go to get home but I’ll let you find more out on your own
