Outstanding presentation. I just bought a used Sashiko and I wanted to get a general idea about how it works. I took 11 pages of notes, which will be extremely useful as I sit down and attempt to use it for the first time. Thanks for all your hard work!

The Bernina software can save embroidery designs in the PES format. You can use this software on other brands of machine other than Bernina e.g. Brother embroidery machines. Hope that helps.

I am having a terrible time getting my wifi device to work. I had to reinstall my windows software on my computer. Before that the wifi device worked fine. I reinstalled the software but cannot get the wifi device to work. I made sure I had the 2.4 khz network like you showed on your video. Do you have any suggestions?

thanks Shannon for sharing your knowledge; I have a question regarding adding/extending a stitch. Eg. in your video at 1:01:21 you see a center part with some close to vertical stitches. Can you make these longer or shorter? I'm asking just incase there is a small gap in a design and one would like to add some stitches or make them longer to 'close' the gap. Hi Carel. Thank you for the kind remarks on the video. Yes, you can move stitch points by going into the Stitch Edit function. That is beyond the "Fundamentals" class that was presented here. In the description you can find the website where you can sign up for classes if interested.

I have two questions about this WiFi device/Software; 1- Do this work with any Non-Bernina Machine that has a USB port, like Brother or BAI? Do Bernina software is the only that works with this device?

My understanding is that the Bernina WiFi device is only compatible with Bernina V9 software i.e. you cannot send designs using other embroidery software to the device. You can however use the device on most machines that have a USB port provided you save the file in the machine's format.

You're quite welcome. Gail's Thread Fusion is a lot of fun to use. I recently made a wall hanging quilt and used my serger and Gail Yellen's Thread Fusion to add a unique "binding to it!

I use an Intelliquilter but an getting qmatic for home. In IQ, when you put the crosshairs on a line in the pattern, it has an arrow showing which direction it will sew. I wish Bernina would look at that feature.

Hi Pamela, Yes every system has its "perks". With Q-matic you can position the sew-head on a quilted line and choose "start at nearest point" and then "no sewing". You can then see which direction the head will move and go from there. I do like the idea of the directional arrow that Intelliquilter offers. Let Bernina know via a support ticket for future feature request.

You make it clear that a separate USB with only the machine head files on it is needed to update the Q24 firmware. Using the Bernina USB did not work to update the Q24 after successfully updating the QMatic. Thank you very much.
