I’m afraid of heights, so I thought it would be fun if Leo was afraid of heights. But Raph is the tough guy, so it made more sense for him...I guess ;)

Yeah, but they thought it would be funnier if the badass of the group lost his shizzle instead. It was a better character/story choice.

Phil Langone So they tried to do it with Leo but it didn’t worked so they did it with Raph instead, is that right?

@@collgoff Well, for some reason I thought it would be funny if the leader of the team was scared of heights. And from personal experience, being scared of heights can come out of nowhere and cause one to freeze. Anyway, every character has a weakness, so I played with the idea that fear of heights would be Leo's, but they changed it to Ralph thinking the big, tough guy of the team should be the one afraid of heights. I think both ideas work. Giving characters a weakness makes them more interesting.

​@@Phil_Langone_FilmArtRaph is a better choice, it's make him more vulnerable and likeable than in the 1st movie, when he was nothing more than a huge angry and toxic jerk because "I'm ToO bAdAsS tO fOlLoW yOuR oRdErS LEo !!!". And "What would Vin Diesel do ?" is far more funnier than "For my brothers !"

@@origami6479 they made a better choice in the end than I did for this scene. That’s what happens in films. You try things. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t.

I work primarily in Photoshop and then the animatic was done by my co-worker in After Effects and Premiere.

The working title was “Half Shell”. I drew these for the movie over a period of a couple of weeks.
