THIS WAS SO GOOD???? I CANNOT imagine how much effort went into this; as someone who has used after effects before, it has become my greatest enemy 😅This was insane; one of the comments made me realize that Edgeworth wasn't in this case. I loved his little witty remarks and how he was determined to get more on the case (since it'd be his first one to lose). Like, the graphics and everything were insane, this is incredible

Thank uuuuuu! Yeah AE is a pain, esp with 2000-ish layers to deal with but at least expressions help with a bit of the animating and my pc somehow didn't crash cx. I sort of just based Edgeworth off what I've heard as I hadn't experienced the games yet when I was making this (minus the first case, naturally)

If you count the original project (which was a test on a tv series rather than Ace Attorney) it took around 16 months and 2000 layers in after effects to complete (with MANY breaks in between editing sessions)! Hope you had fun with the marathon. Pretty sure I also played DR in a marathon like succession in 2020 which was really enjoyable cx. I didn't exactly use OST from every DR game as all of them are technically from DR2 as it used existing tracks from DR1. I've made two videos since this one (not counting the green screen) so I haven't exactly stopped making content. The Garfield Kart video flopped REALLY hard and a video I edited for another youtuber didn't fare much better so it's moreso lack of motivation and ideas that's preventing me from making content more often. Thanks for enjoying this video tho :D

@Minaline
@Minaline Жыл бұрын
@@lordmatus8560 Indeed it was worth it as I'm quite proud of how it turned out :] I chose DR2 specifically because I personally am not a big fan of the DR1 HUD and V3 has too complicated of a HUD to animate manually alongside really wanting Phoenix and Edgeworth to duke it out in a Rebuttal Showdown, haha. I'll get back to making videos eventually (maybe). Been thinking about making a video on Splatoon 3 but I am absolute trash at commentating </3 (last time I tried I was playing Isaac with someone and most of the time I was only expressing my complete disbelief at what the heck they were doing). It's a shame you're unable to continue your visual novel as I'm sure it's great! It's always difficult continuing on projects that take a loooooooooooong time to complete so I completely understand not wanting to continue for various reasons. Video editing and making a visual novel is of course very different subjects but what I usually do when editing is making some short points on stuff I would like to complete. For this video specifically I had a full on script like this instead: DISCUSSION [HOLDING PAPER]Edgeworth: Mr. Sahwit, you sell newspaper subscriptions, is this correct? [NEUTRAL]Sahwit: Oh, oh yes! Newspapers, yes! [NEUTRAL UP]Judge: Mr. Sahwit, you may proceed with your testimony. [NEUTRAL DOWN]Judge: Please tell the court what you saw on the day of the murder. [THINKING]Phoenix: (All I have to do is listen to his testimony and point out contradictions. Then all the puzzle pieces can fall into place.) The brackets indicate the character expression/animation followed by the character and what they say. Most of the script was written before I started editing the video. The notes does not need to be this complex of course. Here's a few editing noted for my garfield kart video that was written before I did the edits: ~ Minecraft death, green terracotta superflat world or other green blocks for green screen, use LAN to kill second player ~ Ace attorney moment ~ CPU going off cliff > Kirby falling into a cliff remake ~ Speedrun meme music, when character flies past mic volume png and the music following, gaming jon arbuckle in the corner ~ Character sitting on the finish line: he's just standing there menacingly (spongebob), but with sitting Such notes basically give a simple idea of what has to be done so you have something to work towards rather than going from point A to point B and doing them along the way. Jumping around to adjusting different scenes rather than doing them in order is completely fine too. Again: visual novels are most likely very different than editing videos but it miiiiight help? That and quite a few breaks when it's needed cx

@@Minaline yeah, I like hud of DR2 more too, but honesty I like sounds and sound design in a common in DR1 more, than in DR2 and DR3. Maybe hud and sounds in DR3 is okay, but design and sound design in DR3 is worst for me. Maybe that's why I really like your video, its remember me how I played DR2 for 3 days in a row to finish it so fast. Yeah, youtube videos and visual novels are too different, but it have in a common you wrote me. Its scenario. Good and detailed scenario is very important thing for youtube videos and visual novels and so useful. Thank you for sharing me your thoughts so detailed) It was useful for me and I appreciate it. The one sad thing about VN I want to make is I want make it by myself from scratch because I haven't money for artists, programmers, scenarists and other people. I can make scenario by myself, I can write music, make backgrounds with good quality and can use simple RenPy engine to make game and I'm learning draw anime characters. That's why I can developing visual novel 4-5 years or maybe more). I have skills for making game I want. I worked as copywriter for 7 years and made soundtrack for not famous visual novel Winter's Empty Mask. OST was a little bit crap quality because I haven't good computer for making music with good quality, but I upgraded PC and improved skills as composer so much so I'm sure I can make VN by myself. I'll accept any help if someone will propose me it, especially help of character designers/artists though. Anyway I have skills to make VN by myself :)

@@lordmatus8560 I don't recall the sfx being that different in the games although it's been a long time since I've played and I have short term memory loss so can't say much about that myself cx. DR3 has by FAR the worst music tho. There aren't that many memorable themes from there besides stuff like Scrum Debate and Brain Driver while most of the DR1 & DR2 themes are certified bangers. Still decent but couuuuld have been better. According to steam I finished DR2 in about 5 days so not too far off you there~ No prob. Always happy to help when I can c: If you do want funding for the game I'd recommend Kickstarter or Patreon to help fund it. @@Minaline I've actually never played Danganronpa. I like the idea of it, though, especially the characters, which seem interesting to me. I've actually came up with a short term RP idea that i based off of it, along with ideas from Ace Attorney. I've made OCs based off of certain themes used in Danganronpa, also. The only problems i actually have with Danganronpa is: 1: It's pretty obviously trying to be "mature" and "edgy". It's a little _too_ much for my tastes. 2: I've heard the fan service is obnoxious. I hate fan service already, and it *really* is not needed in a game that's supposed to atleast try to be dark and serious. I also heard there is tons of plot holes, and i *know* the fandom gets horrendous. From more light stuff like unfunny memes (which are okay, i find unfunny stuff funny), worse stuff, like obsessive fans, and i've even seen things as bad as doxxing and threats over not liking certain ships. It's kinda an inside joke for me to hate on Danganronpa, so that's why I felt obligated to say it. I don't hate it. I do think the writing in Ace Attorney is pretty good, other than in 2-3 and 1-2. My favorite case is 1-5 just because the writing is really good. I've never seen any Danganronpa cases in full, so i don't know if the writing is good or not. What's your favorite case in Ace Attorney, and would you recommend Danganronpa or nah? (I apologise for writing too much. I tend to do that.)

@@mightbetoad6786 Ooooh OCs and RPs sound interesting! Regarding the Danganronpa games (excluding ultra despair girls, do not play ultra despair girls) I'd say they are pretty good overall but most certainly has it flaws. One of the characters in V3 for example is absolutely disgusting. The series tends to go moreso towards funny rather than on the dark and serious end and as far as I remember nothing feels TOO dark and serious, only ever so slightly. There doesn't really feel like any real stake even if the characters lives are on the line. AA 2 Case 4 literally pulled such off better than most of the DR trial. There is indeed quite a lot of fanservice in the game and it's BEYOND obnoxious. The trials, besides some dialogue in some places, are really fun to play through tho. I have short term memory so I only remember certain parts of the games but yeah, it probably had a lot of plot holes overall. V3 should have ended early if you ask me. Don't really know much about the fandom as I'm not somebody that actively participates there nor sees that much of it but you're probably correct about the fandom being rather rough. It's completely fine to joke about hating something, so no worries. AA also has it's flaws in some spots, especially in AA 2 Case 3 as that was complete garbage (tho I don't recall what was so bad about the second trial of the first game. I probably forgor). AA 1 Case 5 is indeed the best trial as the writing there is godlike with AA 2 case 4 coming in close second. I haven't watched/played AA 3 yet so can't say if that will change or not (I binged through JohneAwesome's AA 1 and AA 2 playthrough while my pc was being repaired. This video was actually made before then however when I knew very little about AA as I'd only seen the first two trials then, haha). Instead of Danganronpa I would HEAVILY recommend Your Turn To Die. DR WISHES it could be that good. The game pulls off dark and serious themes perfectly with both writing and atmosphere. It's also just as good or better written than AA in most parts. Only two flaws I would give the game would be the one fanservice scene and it not being done yet (missing the last chapter). Ofc this is all just my opinion tho :^) (no worries. I may terrible at writing this much myself tho-)
