First I want to thank you for this video and the sharing of your knowledge. Thank you! I'm working on the same engine for a friend of mine. I've worked on plenty of motorcycles, ATVs and all makes and models of passenger vehicles but I was so unfamiliar with CF MOTO as well as all Chinese brands. After much electrical work and a tear down and cleaning of the carburetor I attempted to crank it up with full confidence it would fire right up. Nope. Long story short... my friend had messed with the valve settings without my knowledge. After trying to find some decent info on this process for many hours with no luck whatsoever I thankfully came to your video. Thank you for being clear and thorough during your guidance! This was truly a blessing to find. I haven't even done the work yet but I'm confident that it will do the trick. Oh yeah, absolutely gorgeous terrain you have up there to enjoy! I'm way down in south Louisiana swampland and just a tad bit jealous of your location. lol just kidding. Thanks again! Have fun and be safe!!!

Hi, Any idea how to adjust a later one, my clutch looks very similar but theres no adjustment on the inside, on the MAG side below the clutch lever is a 17mm nut with a x point on the middle, screwing the x point just seems to lift the arm up and down without making any difference.

I went to a local repair shop put his $10,000 dollar snap on scan tool on my car no codes like that. i had service traction control and stability,and abs on my dashboard. It came up with 2 different codes i don't remember what it was but he cleared all the codes but came back on 30 minutes driving back home. So I decided to go ahead and replace the left side wheel speed sensor what a pain trying to get the old one out trying to carefully get it out it broke of i had no choice. I had to pull everything off the left side wheel bearing Hub was stuck on so bad took for ever after spraying it with PB blaster letting it sit and using a big hammer it finally fell off it was so rusty like no grease at all i ended up drilling out the old wheel speed sensor cleaned it up sprayed the hole. Used a small wire brush to clean inside the hole where the CV Shaft is put the grease down on the CV Shaft and the wheel bearing Hub. Put everything back together and still lights are on for ABS and service traction control and stability lights are on the dashboard any help would be appreciated ty

Dan this sounds like the pinnacle of frustrating for you! If it’s not wheel speed sensors it could be the ABS module (where all of your steel brake lines lead to from the Master Cylinder. Check your cable connection to the ABS module. Aside from that, you could have a loose or breaking wire to the ECM (Engine Control Module) that is attached to the back of the radiator. Check the connection there. See if any of the codes that show up are related to the ABS module. Those are my best guesses.

Have you tried to hook up at tachometer sir? I tried tapping to the b/y line from cdi to ignition coil and the tach goes all the way to max reading even its in idle. The weird thing is accidentally tapped into the kill switch line b/w and i got a decent reading.

Yes, I wired and installed a custom digital dashboard on mine with tach. On a single-cylinder engine it’s simply a solid wire that wraps tight around the spark plug wire.
@RaymondSurnet-c3u
@RaymondSurnet-c3u 7 ай бұрын
Is it the wire directly connected to the spark plug after the ignition coil or is it the black yellow wire before the ignition coil?
@pattywaktdiy4175

@@RaymondSurnet-c3u yes, the thick one connected directly to the spark plug. Look at different tachs for single cylinder engines and you’ll see why I mean.

@pattywaktdiy4175
@pattywaktdiy4175 7 ай бұрын
Yeah I should have covered this…it’s that little box to the left of the stator in the schematic. It gets AC power direct from the stator via one of the 3 wires coming from the stator.

Any of the 3 yellow wires will do?
@pattywaktdiy4175
@pattywaktdiy4175 7 ай бұрын
@@RaymondSurnet-c3u I believe these motors are all 3-phase so any of the wires (that are the same color) should generate AC power to tap into. Use a multimeter and confirm which wires have AC power when motor is running...one wire might be a ground if its a different color. You also likely have a pair of wires coming from the same "port that are coming from the pickup coil, then leading to the CDI. These are signal wires and will only show very very low voltage.

Back in my Honda/Datsun/Nissan mechanic days we would make a wooden I block about 3 or 4 in tall and 1 in thick, one edge of the block is a straight edge and the other edge you cut at an angle matching the more or less V shape of the chain down towards crank. Then just wedge/tap it down between the chain sides and it holds the chain in place w/o it dropping off of crank gear. Also drill a hole in top of the wedge/block to tie a cord so you have a way to retract/pull out the wedge when done. Again, great video

I did not buy a new harness. I used mostly existing wires and added new ones for those missing. Yes, my stator had 3 holes. I am in the process of fixing this same issue. Dash went crazy then the guage needles wouldn't move from 0, and vehicle would barely run when it did start which was very rare. My OBD2 scan tool would power up but not connect to the cars network. I finally found that the abs module was causing the normal (2.5v) volts on the Canbus network at OBD2 connector pins 6 or 14 when testing to ground was over 8 volts. This in turn caused all kinds of this weird crap. As soon as i unplugged the abs module under the vehicle, near the driver's side frame rail, the vehicle would start and the instrument cluster and nav display would act normal. This took me a serious day to figure this out. This abs module had part of a plastic shield missing that is supposed to deflect water and crap away from it. Hope this helps someone.
