They are JUNK they are DESIGNED to BREAK. FYI Although helpful, you do not need the little hook tool, you can get your fingers behind/underneath the Front Clasp, you will feel the (jiggly/wiggly) part in behind it, all you need to do is press on it firmly in order to release the Plastic J Hook and voila, opens right up. I examined mine, after I took it apart, as it was BROKEN, and there are two two prong hooks, one on each side of the clasp, one snapped off, from use, and this is what causes the Latch to become inoperable. As I said, JUNK. Just another SHE HIT design by the GM Engineers. All to keep the average person coming back to the Dealer to RE-BUY said JUNK, so they can charge you a PREMIUM, and the most likely minimum 30 to 60 mins to Re and Re it. This seems to be a COMMON PROBLEM.

Omg! My blinker switch broke ..guess it's the indicator switch or spring. It won't stay in the Off position. So I been driving with one finger in the hole Under the blinker arm n letting it rest on my finger. And use the other hand for driving . Finger gts kinda tired. And if u want a sip of water or soda ..or try n put CD in ..tad level of difficulty . I love ur video on this ! The beginning is Hilarious! 😂😂😂
