Solid movie awesome cast, the topic has been relevant since it came out, 8/10. Other movies you might want to check out of the same genre, Seven Days in May, On the Beach, Twilight's Last Gleaming, The Day After, and my personal favorite, The Bedford Incident. Dark Age didn't really have a scale. Mechs like the shadow cat, catapult, ryoken II were all bigger than supposed 100 ton mechs. Scaling between weight classes was mostly fixed in the Age of Destruction redesign

That is likely just the tail end of what shipped out for the Kickstarter. I believe these will be more widely available once these items start hitting mass retail.

I believe they will. The shipments for retail haven't started yet from what I understand. Some retailers put in orders from the Kickstarter campaign and that is what they have now, from what I understand. I am not sure when the retail shipments are supposed to start. I will see if I can get an answer on that.

Catalyst released a newsletter today that indicates the regular Mercenaries Salvage boxes (and several other items) will go up for sale this month. They will be $7.99 (MSRP). There will also be Battlefield Support Salvage Boxes for $11.99 (MSRP). I didn't get any of those from the Kickstarter so no unboxing videos as of yet from me, but I believe those are the vehicle salvage boxes and I believe they are supposed to have 2 vehicles (not sure if 2 of the same vehicle like the Force Packs).

the 'bug' mechs, are given the name due to the name of the mech: Locust Wasp Stinger Spider Cicada Spider Grasshopper Tarantula Scorpion Firebee Firefly Flea Dragonfly Firemoth Hornet Stalking spider Fire scorpion Glass spider it's a long list and has mechs from every weight class. during the initial release of TRO 3025, there were several recognized by name as being both light and fast. but, over time, that stigma has changed.

the biggest mistake CGL can make with Battletech - make faction specific units and/or faction specific rules. the greatest strength of the game, the rules are universal for everyone. and literally, everything is available to everyone - always! the only limitation is, newer era units are not available to older era's of history. even that, I get around by declaring the item as a prototype.

@bruced648 I don't believe they are going in that direction. These seem to be aimed at people who come from games like Warhammer 40K where there are army lists so they can have a sense of that.

@geekcabal2599 since I haven't seen the actual books yet, and you have, I hope you are correct. this is a story-line based IP. while it is a war game, it is not directed at tournament play. this is the area that most 40k players cannot distinguish between the two games.

I agree with you, Landman is excellent, 9/10. Billy Bob plays Billy Bob, and he is very good at it. Very similar to Mayor of Kingstown, 9/10, also by Taylor Sheridan of Yellowstone fame. I recommend the show highly. Thanks for sharing.

Yep! Adam Steiner became Archon and his children and grandchildren after him for better or worse! After Peter Steiner-Davion 's only child Hanse Steiner -Davion was unfit to rule due mental disablilities. With the ascension of Melissia Steiner to the Archon throne it was definitely worse (first time a Steiner was replaced by a totally non-Steiner=Vedette Brewer)! Ironically, she was eventually succeeded by Trillian Steiner-Davion, the daughter of Hanse Steiner-Davion who so many Lyran Purity fanatics considered unfit for his Davion bloodlines as well as his mental disabilities! Even worse was how Adam's 1st Somerset Striker Kuritan Kamerad Franklyn Sakamoto's(AKA Kurita Franklyn) great grand daughter Kurita Yori became the Coordinator of The Draconis Combine. Basically, Toranaga Matsuhara, the ruthless Gunjan No-Kanrei (Shogun) of the Combine wiped out the legitimate Coordinator and his heirs and placed her on the throne.

There's a MechWarrior Dark Age book, Technology of Destruction (looks like a coffee table book). I remember when it came out and in the sidenotes where it covered the timeline up to that point it mentioned Adam Steiner becoming the Archon. I think some people were surprised he actually existed in canon and not just in the cartoon. I knew Toranaga put Yuri on the throne but I guess I didn't know about her background. I will have to read up on that.

I need to do better editing, I meant southeast. As for the story itself, it came from a book that I believe was called The Hundredth Monkey which has all kinds of interesting information and stories about nuclear weapons. The book was trying to raise awareness of the dangers that they pose.

@@bstoker9468 I thought it was informative. If you want to maybe have trouble sleeping at night look up the issues with the missile silos. There's been a few news segments on the problems the last few years. One of my favorite parts is how they use computers as old or older than I am (though there are reasons).

Dwarven Forge isn't cheap, that's for sure. I was lucky and got in on their first couple of Kickstarter projects (wish I would've gone in more than I did). If you can paint, their unpainted products are cheaper. We are doing unboxings of other types of terrain if you want to check out those videos. There are cheaper options out there. They may not be as detailed or as virtually indestructible as Dwarven Forge, but they aren't bad.

Highlander, outstanding movie 9/10, soundtrack 10/10. The final fight scene is great, and the sweeping camera work is unique. Highlander 2, terrible, 2/10. I haven't seen any of the other movies, Highlander 2 killed my desire to go further. Didn't know about the animated series and the anime movie. The TV series was on during a busy time in my life, and I only caught an episode here and there. Seemed good, but if you are in and out, it is hard to keep track of what is going on. Thanks for sharing.

The anime movie is good from what I recall. The story is outside of the story of Connor, Duncan, etc. As far as the movies, while Highlander 2 is definitely a low point, Highlander The Source (movie 5) is absolute trash. 3 and 4 are decent.

Doesn't say Star Wars to me. I can't see a Jedi wearing one of these, one of their big advantages is their ability to move smoothly and blindingly quickly, mechs say plodding to me. As you say, from a lore perspective, it has issues. Thanks for sharing.
