Lunch with Lars again! Fwiw: There is a Cooking Pot in the DB Sanctuary. It's where the dinner table is. For ease of memory I put my food in the Barrel of Meat in the kitchen, my ingredients in the Barrel of Ingredients at the Alchemy station, and everything else in the chest at the Enchanting table. That way I don't have to think too hard about it. :) Also, if you're going to be dropping lots of Saves consider deleting your old saves so the Save file doesn't get bloated - that can also cause problems. Also, also, you should be making Venison stew with all the raw venison. It's delicious Belethor closes the shop for lunch

Thanks! Yes, later I found the pot and moved my food down there and same with ingredients. Good point on the saves, I should clean up. Yum, I will get on that venison stew! This week and next are all pre-recorded and scheduled to come out as we move through December.

So Lars starts his Dark path, nice. Question about Linux and MO2. I'm a little familiar with Linux, but not much. Why do you have to launch MO2 through Steam instead of directly? On Windows, I launch Lorerim by launching the associated MO2. No part of the Lorerim?Wabbajack installation or playing experience takes place via Steam other than the initial installation of the base game itself.

going no armor route is tough, as it's a magic build where you have to wear clothing items, i don't like this when playing on controller, the only way i liked that playstyle was back when i used that smart cast mod, that mod was a life saver because you could set spells to auto cast based on event, so if i had a spell like stone flesh i could set it to cast when combat starts, very useful. it was also helpful somewhat when using ward spells while using a bow, there was another mod i used at the time that would make it so ward spells could sort of be used like regular shields, but they did consume magic and it did depend on your skill level in restoration, i used to really love doing armor based builds, but wearing clothing makes the game so much harder, it makes it really fun, but you got to have the right mods, like the ward spell has to be a casted spell that doesn't require focus on holding down the spell so when you use a bow, it stays up and it depended on your skill in that tree as well as which kind of ward spell as some were less effective than others, but yeah it was great fighting dragons on the ground as they would swoop down and use a fire attack or whatever and if you were shooting arrows at them while with this spell. you at the very least had some defense, so you would have your flesh spell as a backup just incase your ward spell wasn't strong enough and broke during attacks of intense battles with dragons.

do you use that high fps fix mod for your skyrim load order? that mod unlocks your fps and also unlocks the fps during load screens so the game loads faster even with a heavy load order. anyway i know it works on Windows, but i want to know if it works for Linux. i use that mod for both skyrim and FO4, it significantly improves load times and fps while i play, it's the kind of mod you never really want to take our of your load order as it's too useful in bethesda games that are limited in this way.

No, I do not but will look into it. Thanks for the question!
@5226-p1e25 күн бұрын
@@larsgagnergaming for bigger load orders it was a life saver lol, i mean in vanilla FO4 without that mod damn near every load door took a full 2 minutes straight every time, with the mod i have seen it done in 10 seconds or less. there was another mod author who made it function even faster, but my PC is kind of old and i'm not too sure it would be able to handle it, but as of now i have that mod and i unlocked my fps to 300, now i don't reach 300 in game, but during load screens it is running at 300fps, i can't explain how it works, but i can explain that it has something to do with the fps tied to physics in these two bethesda games. i'm not sure starfield needs this since that game mostly focuses on proc gen which means it generates landscapes based on filters, instead of stored data, except for maybe the worlds that have data based cities that don't rely entirely on proc gen. that's the only improvement i have noticed in starfield, it does load much quicker than these two other bethesda games.

Regarding Diety Punishments: My character is a devotee of Talos. Yesterday i was trying to finish the Civil War by storming Solitude with the Stormcloaks. I was at 185% favor with Talos and accidentally struck a civilian causing me to lose all favor and gifts. I reloaded my save, a lengthy process, you know. And it happened again. And a third time too. So i decided to stay in the back and let the npcs duke it out until i could rush into Dour Castle proper. It was mildly annoying. Anyway, no real tips today, good to see Lars developing! Ok, one tip, that will be useful in some instances: You can Target Lock. I foeget the default key, but check True Directional Movement in the MCM to see. I rebound it to Mouse 5.

There's a mod installed that makes death a Souls-like routine. When you sleep or rest it creates a respawn point and when you die you will revive at that point. Because of this mod, loading a Save from in-game can (and always does in my experience) crash to desktop. Hard Saves should only be loaded from the Main Menu and, once again in my experience, only from initial launch of the game. Also, if you've rested and thus created the respawn save and then drop a Hard save it will respawn you from the Rested save point. When I launch the game I always choose Load and pick the top Hard Save because I'm unclear if Continue uses it or the last Rested Save. I hope that all makes sense.

I don't think there's a way to use the console for Static Skill Leveling. My best advice is drop a hard Save before you go to sleep when you know you've leveled up. Then, if you make an error, you can reload the save from the Main Menu - don't load from within the game. Also, unless you changed a setting in the Requiem MCM, you will also need the Craftsmanship Manual, I think, even after you use a Perk point. That's how it is in base Requiem, not sure about Lorerim.
@genxmonk70Ай бұрын
A couple other quick things: Scroll down through the cooking list to see what buffs and ingredients are associated with different dishes. One of the keys to early game success with Requiem lists is food buffs. In the MCM you will find info about the mods. You can see what the economy mods do to prices, for instance. I personally don't like paying gold to fast travel. The cost of fast travel is the time lost in game. Paying for a carriage is paying for swifter travel. That makes sense, although the prices are steep. So I edit the fast travel in the MCM to have no cost and the carriage costs I reduce to be more in line with Vanilla. For what it's worth, I won't backseat you. I think it's one thing to help someone understand the mechanics of things. I noticed you mentioned the Major, in one earlier video, so I know you're familiar with the basic mechanics of the game. But I'm not going to make suggestions that directly pertain to game play.

@@larsgagnergamingone final tip that just occurred to me. Before your next level up, go into the MCM. Go to Static Skill Leveling. There is a setting for the number of times you can raise a Skill. The default is 5, to mimic using a Skill Trainer. Change it to 10 if you want to correct your mistake. Then change it back afterwards if you want. (I leave it on 10 because when you play with normal skill leveling, you can normally get the 5 from the trainer plus a few extra just from playing)

i'm guessing the recording programs on Linux are kind of poopoo, but your game looks good, i don't really like your FOV setting, it's too zoomed in it makes me feel claustrophobic, but the textures are nice, they kind of look like playdough lol, smooth and all that. anyway are you playing on wine linux or something else? i'm likely going to have to move to linux and some folks in the bethesda gaming community have told me to use wine linux because it's the most easy one to use when it comes to file structure and modding bethesda games, but i wonder about that high FPS fix mod and if it works for linux, because one of the required files for it to work comes from Microsoft, and i really don't want to give up on my high fps, it also loads the game faster along with my SSD. reason why i'm moving to linux is due to having pretty much no choice on the matter, i have win ten, and microsoft is trying to either force ppl onto the next version of windows or they are trying to make you pay for win ten, and i just don't want either, so linux is the best bet for me.
