Well, Marion, I somehow have missed this video all these years. Just ran across it this morning and love it. You look so good. Have missed seeing your work. Know I think of you often and the class we had in Tybee.

Hello Alice, how nice of you to comment. I’ve just recommended this channel to a friend to watch, and I thought, why not take a look myself. I haven’t seen this in years. I hope you’re keeping well and still painting. I haven’t painted since Covid struck, and have been trying other things which I’m enjoying.

Hello, you have great work , I would like to ask what kind of oil is used to mixing?
@christine148a4 жыл бұрын
In UK we use different oils and mediums for different purposes. In this case it was waterbased medium which has almost no smell and is thinned down using a drop of water.

Hello. I came across this video. As I also paint on ceramic plates, want to know what is this brush called which you have used in the video. It is not a flat brush from the looks of it

My wife bought a baroque coffeepot with gold lined edges. It is Bavaria porcelain (Johann Seltmann). Unfortunately, the gold decoration has partially vanished. The former owner must have been careless while washing it, maybe used the wrong detergent. I wonder if this can be restored.
@christine148a7 жыл бұрын
If it is definitely porcelain rather than china then the chances are it can be refired to be restored. What you need is someone in your area that does gold work. You do not say if it is burnished gold or bright gold? Due to the fact that gold sits on the surface of the porcelain and does not go under the glaze it means that if you use an abrasive cloth when washing you can scratch and damage the surface and the gold will eventually be removed. If you go to www.firebrickart.com there is a contact for info.

Can someone kindly tell me what kind of painting powder and pen is she using at 4:45 ? 請問有人知道影片(4:45)中所使用的顏料粉跟畫筆是哪個牌子和在哪裡買的嗎?
@christine148a7 жыл бұрын
The powder is paint specifically for working on porcelain which needs to be fired in a kiln at 800oC. It can be bought from Held of Harrogate in UK (but can be purchased in any country!) The pen is the same as an old fashioned pen that you dip in liquid ink. This is a video about "I-Relief" which is a powder designed to give texture and after it is fired it is covered with Liquid Bright Gold and fired again.

Very helpful instructional video. I love the brush work. I would like to know what kind of glaze or is it a stain? I do feel like I was watching "Blair witch project " because there is too much camera movement. No focal point.
