Yes it might be. I believe the reason for that is they fly a bit longer distances.

Hi.It is #8/9 rod. EEMT9/10 is too much also with #9 tip. EMT 8/9 and 9/10 ok. Also EEMT 8/9. So the shooting heads 36- 44g and 63´+ speylines 43-49g.

@hakanpalm1802 Hi! Yes it does bend very Deep. But it is difficult to see because it straighten so fast. We test it in our hands + we put the rod to a table and pressing the tip quite lightly it started to bend very deep and down from the lower handle.

As more mass is applied with a heavier and longer line it bends deeper , shooting head will not bend the rod so much apart from the tip on powerful and progressive rods as that is the nature of there action

Gaelforce EMT #9/10 is the line I`m using most at the moment. But one reason for that is, it suits so well to my Gaelforce 14`6" #9/10 Destination rod and quite well to Voyager 15`

@cuni8000 I believe that sweet spot is around #9,5. But your own taste and casting technics influence too, what is the right fly line to you. Depending the model of the flyline, to many people #9 is too light for that rod.

@Jukka Heikkinen thanks for all the answers! Few months ago a bought candence Ian Gordon 15ft 10/11 rod. A ridiculously easy bending rod. Maybe to easy and not so much power. This weekend I tried Rio Scandi body #7/8 body and #7 15 tip because I forgot the rod at home which I was supposed to cast this line with and Cadence 15ft rod was the only one I had in a car with me. If this did not happen I would never tried this combination. To my surprise the rod was casting the line pretty good. Next time I will try Rio Scandi body long #8 going from 24 grams to 28 grams in body weight. I like the deep bending and easy loading action of Cadence rod but a little bit more power would be nice I think. Because the candence rod is not so powerful its light. 280 grams reel is enough in my opinion so this I really like but because of this the rod is lacking power as well 🙈🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi @cuni8000 I would use reels about the same weight with both rods. I haven't measure those rods but if I would have to guess...I think Voyager can be a bit heavier but they are so close each other that it doesn't matter.

16`Gaelforce rods are terrible strong, like really strong rods. And also they weight a lot. I didn`t like to cast them with shooting heads, but with long belly speylines they worked perfectly. 16`#9/10 is quite easy to load and cast, it did everything like without trying. CND Gravity 15;6 is much lighter in a hand and much lighter to cast. With that rod you can cast easily any kind of fly lines ( offcourse short shooting heads are not so good choise...but longer shooting heads works nicely. And speylines worked attliest equally well. This rod has also lot of power in it, but it wasn`t so easy to get it out. To me i felt like i have to use it a while before i can use all the power what it has in it. Gaelforce 15`#10 is my favorite 15`rod. I truly hope to own it some day ( even i have very good 15`from CND ). With this rod i can achieve really nice distances easily. And it also performs really well without pushing or using all the skills you have. So easy rod to use and if you want more distance or more speed, you can do it with this rod. 15`1" is different animal. It cast effortless, without trying to a certain point, to a quite good distances which is quite good. But you can`t get more distance or speed, even when needed. Very relaxed and easy rod to use, bends nicely, but it is not for distance casting or heavy winds in my opinion.

The Gravity 15´6 is softer than gaelforce 15 and 16 footers. Bending more the middle of the rod. All these 15 and 16 footers bend very deep and the upper part of the rods have more power. To me also the G+ Equalizer 15´ #10 is the best 15´ rod which I have ever cast. I like my #10/11 16 gaelforce, it is not terrible, it is a big gun when you need one. Excellent rod. You can cast how heavy lines you want how far you can. Much bigger rod than Gravity 15´6.

⁠when u say Gaelforce 15 do you mean the regular Equalizer or the + model? I've owned the 14ft Equalizer and loved it. Looking to go for a easier casting 12.6-13ft and also perhaps a 14 and 15ft. So naturally I'm looking at Gaelforce. Mostly shooting Gaelforce EMT line so would like something works good with that. Not into the longer spey lines the technique isn't there yet.

Hi sir! The rod i use was Gaelforce switch 11’9” #8/9 fly rod. That rod i have been using since 2019 in saltwater and freshwater fishing. And a flyline i did use in that video, is Vision Grand Daddy #10 float. I just bought it and it felt good and worked well.

The rod I use was Gaelforce Equalizer G+ #7/8 11´3 switch.Line Vision Hybrid 23g (350gr) and a cut 5´ 5g sinking tip.

Hyvää huomenta Mika! En käytä. Yksikätiset jäävät kaappiin, switchit lähtevät mukaan. Switchillä pystyn heittämään kevyemmin ( heitto tapahtuu kahdella kädellä ) ja samoille mitoille ja pidemmällekin kuin yksikätisellä. Lisäksi itselleni on helpompaa heittää kaksikätisenä vasemmalta puolelta, mikäli tähän on tuulen vuoksi tarvetta. Ja myös vedestä lähtevät heitot tapahtuvat switchillä / trout speyllä sujuvammin.

Hi Junior T! Sorry it took some time to answer...been little bit busy. With Gaelforce #8/9 switch rod i’m using mainly 355 - 416 grain flylines and with Meiser 909 i’m using 480-520 grain flylines to a pike fishing.

It depends so much which rod and flyline you are using? I have tried and tested so many switch rod with a different flylines. Most of them are tip-flex rods ( stiff ones from the bottom to middle part of the rod and tip is working/bending when vasting ) and these are not good for a pike fishing in my experience. I use only rods where the tip is stiffer ( it is capable to handle a cargo from the flyline and big pike flies without collapsing ) and easy to get all the needed power from the bottom part of the rod.

But switch rods are little bit sensitives about the flylines also.
