The pro 16 are incredible but All Bose has so much sound bleeding through the rear of speaker. More than any speaker BY FAR

You originally didn't like the Maui because it clipped and lacked headroom compared to Bose. Has that changed?

Musicians don't need to get away from the sound. DJ's, I get it. You need to get away from the sound, it's constant. Musicians, the sound stops when you stop playing. You need to hear everything you're playing. We need more than 2 channels as well.

Couldn't agree with you more. That coverage of the Bose is too much. When I had my Yorkville sub-sat setup, I never walked out of a venue with fatigued ears. Now I do with the Pro16s.

Good morning , I am extremely surprised by the change of opinion on the Bose L1 Pro 16 and I will explain. 8 months ago, you compared the two products with a lot of passion with how Bose was superior by so many points vs LD Maui G3's But it will be interesting if you can explain me just one thing. *** I need to turn the base down because I am clipping like crazy , me as a DJ I don’t feel comfortable having that clip light on constantly *** I’m not confortable with clipping the whole entire time so that’s the biggest difference *** Does this mean that the clipping situation is suddenly no longer important?? I find that the change of opinion on the same speaker in 8 months can reduce the credibility of a person who can talk about a product. I hope you give us a honestly answer to that question. Thanks and advance. DJ Funkykik

I still agree with everything I said about the Bose, it's just the hearing issue. The 180 degrees is killing my ears no matter where I place the speakers. I will still use my Bose once in a while but not every weekend.

I agree with you on the 3 negative points of Bose but the Maui is heavier. Yes Bose should have revised a little for the tower even if it would have added 1-2 lbs. The 180 degree has advantages and disavantage but also for us DJs after 1-2 evenings online yes it tires the ear but no need for a monitor to mix. I tested the Pro32 and wow the difference in power in a large room.. I also made a transparent flexible mat with TPU parts to protect the base. I no longer have big parties, 1 pro32 plays louder than my 2 pro16s especially at longer distances and the 180 degree is need if a use only 1 speaker and no problem two pro16 if not enough distance in certain rooms for the sound cancellation effect. I use the 2 subpro16 with the pro32.. really the best compromise weight power.. sub2 I don't really play more than the subpro16 vs the weight and the only handle.. I made a video on my channel for the sub comparisons Bose

I have these speakers and I find they clip easily I have tried various connection type. I use the 1/4 connection on channel 3 put it to music and I noticed at times the volume will tamper down on its own, even though it is not clipping (channel 3). I tried connecting them channel 1 and they seem to clip quick, not sure why. Are you able to suggest the best way to connect these to avoid clipping. I am going through an external mixer. TY

Most of these portable array systems are not designed to produce booming bass. If you try that by adding bass using eq you will start to clip. This was also the case with my Evox system. So I use a 15 inch subwoofer along with them with the xover set at 100hz and the problem is solved. I get another 3 to 6 db from my Evox with the sub and also booming bass. I already had that 15 inch sub sitting around so it has not been a big deal.
@13bcoffee
@13bcoffee Ай бұрын
Wow ... I have used the RCF Evox with the 12 inch sub, also several others. I have yet to used the Bose Pro 16 or hear it but this could be my next array system. But darn, the price is way higher than what I paid for the Evox. I would say they cost 2x as much. But from what I can tell these will help with one of my gripes with the arrays with 12 inch subs and that is bass. You do get bass from the 12 inch subs but for me I like at least a 15 inch sub on the bottom. I like to feel the bass and shake the room. When playing on the system with the 12 inch sub I would hit the limit light during most of my wedding and bday gigs. Just a little more bass was what I needed! I am excited about the Bose Pro16 and a buddy has invited me to a gig he is doing with his. Note: a solution that I used quite frequently with my Evox with the 12 inch subs was to add a 15 inch sub that I already owned. That's was a good solution because not all gigs needed the sub but most did.

Good job on the video , I brought 2 pro 8s back the towers were junk they both failed one after the other right out of the box one worked for about an hour and then cut out and the second one which replaced the first one didn't work at all, I took the new one to the gig unboxed it and it didn't work just the sub good thing I had my Jackie's for backup just my true experience.

Honestly just so you know if you bought them from sweetwater you're all set as far as the best customer service in my opinion, but I bought several LD products and my friend bout the larger on and the sub was bad 0 customer service it took him 3 -4 months to straighten it out its a good thing our local dealer in Mass stood behind their products if not we would have been lost.This was a while ago

You would think as much as Bose charges for these systems no.1 they wouldn't have these issues, and no.2 if they have to have these issues, they would have thought to create and include these things you showed in the video.

I'm a solo musician in Australia, playing acoustic gigs and I also gig with backing tracks. I bought the Evolve 50 a few weeks ago to replace my old QSC k12 (12 years old) but I must agree with you and admit the Evolve 50 does lack headroom! I was a little disappointed with them to be honest. Acoustic gigs it was fine, but playing my guitar along with backing tracks at a pub, the unit started to struggle at almost full volume and still wasn't that loud. I'll still keep them and use them for small club gigs, small functions and gigs where space is tight, but I'm keeping my QSC K12's and subs for larger gigs in the future.

Lol!!! Sounds just like a Glock baby, lol!!! The best thing about the EV is their ability to hold tone & clarity at every level, unlike the Bose that is solid at low to mid volumes but can’t touch the EVs top end. Yes, you can certainly push the EV to distortion, but you reach that floor at a considerably higher DB/SPL level. Just because the Bose limits distortion by squelching their overall volume at much lower levels just means they are designed to be used by amateurs who don’t know volume ends at clipping/distortion and this allllows them to turn it up to 11 and forget about it without damage. For smaller gigs or events that cater to spoken word or acoustic strings the Bose is a solid choice but in every other setting the Bose falls short, especially when you bring in the newer 50M. You might be able to make a case for the Bose if you were comparing it to the EV 30M, but only user error could make the 50M or 50 fail against the Bose in a blind head to head…

I just got the L1 Model II's and i did a babyshower last weekend and I have to agree with your number 2 con. I do definitely hear these speakers way louder than the 2-way speakers i use to have, so that's a good recommendation, to put them a bit in front of my table so that sound doesn't hit my ears. Thanks for the video!
