I knew a former Lanc mid-upper gunner from the Pathfinders. They saw a M 262 once on a raid, by the time they had spotted it, it was gone. If it had attacked there was nothing they could have done.

Loved riding in the Echo!

I did a detachment there in 1998, and really enjoyed it! A small base, but very nice billeting for transient aircrews, maintainers and pilots. Good flying too...

There aren’t many sounds that mean your day is about to get better or a whole lot worse, but this is indeed one of them.
