In her latest album, Levesque has songwriting credits as well. JoJo's public exposure was due to "burying" on the part of her record label, not for the lack of talent, which is beyond self-evident the moment she opens her mouth. Swift and JoJo have different timbres that are like the differences between the winds and the strings. Swift has the more string-like voice while JoJo the winds-like voice. In addition, it takes an unusually keen musical mind to make covers that are musically convincing. "Weak" by SWV is not a screecher's song, but perhaps too R&B for your white boy tastes. Both cover versions by Jojo, one at 13, one at 28, are consistent in their quality and the ability to make it sound as if it was her own. Swift did not make this a gentle adagio. There is quite the buildup in the section before the ending section of "Can't you see that I'm the one who understands you" where the original backing track in crescendoing and the singer cannot be drowned out by the guitar. Swift, while she has vocal timbre that has some distant similarity with Olivia-Newton John, is certainly not as agile or flexible as Newton-John, wheras JoJo has similar agility. JoJo is mezzo-soprano while Newton-John is a soprano. Where the tiebreaker JoJo has that very few performers have, even the likes of a Whitney...is compositional intuition. She has the ability to string together a musically compelling string of notes and have the ability to perform them, and the combinations are endless with her. Her re-recordings maintain the essence of the songs she recorded in her respective 2004 and 2006 albums, but there are major, significant differences in the notes actually sung. That ability is like that of Mozart. Any Mozart concerto can show his ability to establish the basic themes and then weave into the general skeletons musically compelling combinations of notes that seem so simple in text but so impossible for other musicians to emulate. Swift is not a terrible singer like Nahuel says, but she also isn't in the upper echelon either. She most certainly does not have endless variations and "coloring" that JoJo adds to every song or snippet. She has musicality, which is the most important thing to having success.

I have listened to many songs from different genres, more than you probably have. You need vocal to be a singer, but you need artistry to make you an artist. I listen to the best songwriters of this generation such as taylor, lana, and lorde. Theyre not great vocally, but they deliver emotions everytime they sing their songs, theyre storytellers, something that is much more interesting to watch than this plain performance. AND THEY HAVE FLAWLESS DISCOGRAPHY. Usually vocalists' discographies are nothing to be compared to those who arent vocally excellent. Like madonna and britney, theyre not great vocally, they are oftenly classified as d- or c singer at best. But their discography? Are legendary and paved the way for young artists. Where are the vocalists like celine and etc? They only have vocals not artistry. She is probably great vocally, but as an artist? Not even close, she suits the profession "singer" better. Shes just like demi lovato and etc. Who is great vocally but have no artistry, plain songs with poor songwriting skills. In conclusion, this girl cant be considered an artist, shes a singer at best. Gn And taylor has been experimenting a lot of sounds for the songs in her discography. From a country girl, she made one of the best pop albums last decade, the first time she experimented. And this girl? Isnt even close to be an artist😭
