Good review. Was this test car a 2 wheel drive? 4 wheel drive has a superior rear multi link suspension and should improve vehicle dynamics somewhat in certain situations.

Apologies for the late reply. Yes this was the 2WD version. Seems like this is the default version but I agree with you about the 4WD improved handling for certain situations

@@mikelai7483 It’s a three-exhaust system. The two bigger exhaust tips are on the business end of straight flow mufflers, while the smaller one in the middle exits a resonator. This system is what makes your Civic Type R sound glorious from one end of the tach to the other, without being obnoxiously loud and uncomfortable at highway speeds. Basically it’s a combination of hardware (exhaust) and software (electronics).

This new or a used luxury suv - eg. Mercedes GLA. The long wait times for new means you have time to find a really nice used BMW X1 or Mercedes GLA. In 3 years time it will be more appealing.

Guys don't use your fog lamps unless you have to, it's annoying. Thank you for saying that. I drive a small 2012 Corolla around 60 miles round trip to work in back on the interstate in the dark every day. It never fails I get over in the left lane to go around a slower moving vehicle and before I can get back in the right lane an oversized pick up truck will fly up on my bumper with their lights on bright and their fog lights on blinding you. They do this on purpose as if they own the road and how dare you get in their way. Of course, there are no cops around to give out tickets this time of the morning where I live and drive. They all seem to think they are NASCAR drivers and that few seconds they save matters.

172 nm is indeed a problem, if you want to drive uphill. I own a Hyundai hybrid and here in Austria it struggles to drive 100 kph uphill with 235? NM. Also I don't understand why they are using the old battery design from the old Corolla (NIMH not Li-Ion)... At least the should have made the same power like the corolla 2.0 hybrid engine. Thanks for the review.

Agreed, more torque would definitely make a difference especially on hilly terrains. Likely for cost purposes that they’re using an older tech. Plus as the old saying goes, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it 🤣

Yeah there’s always that concern of maintenance (battery) when it comes to the hybrid. Which affects the resale value as well as questions the overall reliability compared to the regular version

@@Faisal-actualfacts you make a fair point, but here it isn’t considered a compact SUV, it’s a C-segment. Compact SUVs in our market is known as a A or B-segment. Hence why I felt a little disappointed with the rear space. Highlander is something I wish was available here but isn’t 😅 It is a similar case with the Corolla sedan, it’s competitors offer more rear cabin space. I’m very curious though, what models or size type cars are most popular over there?
