I will subscribe and watch your progress. What you are trying to build is not easy. There are already lots of velomobiles you can buy. What will make yours better or different? But you seem smart enough to keep asking yourself if you're on the right track. When it isn't good it isn't good. The biggest problems are how to get in the thing, and the fogging up of the windscreen. That is why with most velomobiles they stick their head out. I don't have the space to build another trike. If I had it would be an all weather velo too. Half of the year it is too wet or too cold to enjoy cycling. But I would keep it very simple. At 25km/h you don't need complicated tilting or front suspension. And you want to leave it unguarded without it getting stolen or damaged. The reason why Dutch people have old cheap bikes in cities. So your trike must work in real life. The biggest mistake people make is draw something that looks beautiful, but is too complicated and unpractical. Perhaps make a mockup from wood and cardboard? To get an idea what the result should be. Maybe part of the body can be sheet material that is easy to replace? My issue with fiberglass or carbon velomobiles is when it gets damaged it has to be brought back to the repair shop and repainted. Meanwhile you can't use it. I often look at the Pedal Prix races in Australia. Especially the cheaper simpler designs made of Coroplast, or Corflute as they call it. That is how I would try build it. In short: Simpler is better, and less is more. I will follow you on YT. Keep posting videos.

Well that is strange. Lets see if we can find the problem. 1. Could it be the controller is in Mode 1? Where the left stick is forward and left/right. (Pitch/roll) I'm not sure that can be changed with the app, or we how to with a combination of buttons on the controller. 2. Is the drone in beginner mode? Check in the app. Should still fly 30 meters of course. 3. Did you use the obstacle avoidance thing? Try without. 4. What happens with the virtual sticks in the app? 5. Did have have enough satellites? Maybe it was in optical flow mode? You still should be able to fly it. But who knows? 6. Did you charge the controller? I advice you to film the next flight. Go to an open field. So you have something to show to the seller in case of a broken controller. ( Or if you crash the drone because of a broken controller) I don't think it's the drone itself. If it it just the controller, ask for a new one. In worst case you order the controller. There are already spare parts available on Ali E (xpress). .

@@driewiel Thank you for replying. I was using VS GPS PAro app from the Android Play store. 1. The left joystick was working properly (Ascend/descend, left/right spin) so I don't believe it was 2. I didn't see beginner mode while using the app. I will power back up tomorrow and check. 3. It was my first flight with the drone and did not use obstacle avoidance attachment 4. I didn't know there were virtual sticks in the app, so I have not tried it. 5. It was showing 19 satellites connected 6. The controller was charged I ordered from LYZRC Official Store on AliExpress. Are you sure you received the same drone? The higher resolution is on the SD card of course. But upload a video and show me.

If you watch other videos here on YT of the L200 Pro Max, you will see they are all this quality. So either your drone is broken, or they sent you the wrong drone.

Who needs DJI?

The follow-me feature is more or less usable on this drone. It has what I call 'compass type' follow-me. It will stay north south east west wherever you put it. So you can have it fly in view in front/next to you. Only when I move the sticks it goes out of follow-me so I can't steer it. And the app does not have a homepoint-update option. Cheap drones almost never do. But flying it manually works pretty nice because the drone isn't too fast. My C-Fly Faith Mini for example is all over the place and really hard to fly smooth at the right pace.

Not sure. I have heard of people putting a drop of oil in. But don't ask me what type of oil or if you can at all. There are already spare parts available on Ali(Express) Best use google because the search engine on Ali sucks. Replacing the motor or arm may require some soldering of the wires. I'm terrible at that!

That price seems very suspicious. I hope it is indeed the L200 Pro Max you ordered. It's already amazingly cheap at $95. ($120 with extra battery and obstacle avoidance thing). As for which drone I like more, well the C-Fly is much faster. It can can handle more wind. And the phone is connected through OTG with the controller which has much longer FPV range. But because the video of the L200 Pro Max looks better, and because it is so cheap, I find it more fun. In my case it also works better while riding my bike, because it is slower, easier to fly at the right pace. Only thing it does not have compared to the C-Fly is a homepoint update. I may to to race back in panic to where it took off on occasion. If after a while you decide you want something more high-end, like a DJI or Fimi Mini, then of course you will lose less money with the L200 Pro Max. I always tell people to skip everything between $150 and $300. Either it is a real budget drone, or it is a DJI ( or maybe Fimi). And now we have the L200 Pro Max under 250 grams, with gimbal, SD card slot, everything. It would be stupid to buy a $250 model of some kind.

Yes I will. Only tried it walking and that worked kinda. It does stay in compass position. But soon I move the sticks it goes out of follow-me. And I doubt it will auto-update homepoint like my LYZRC L109 Pro.

That is not really my thing. Range isn't important to me. And it is only WiFi. I lost FPV at 100 meters. But Max Hobby and Pavão Drones did a long review and they had much better results.

Yes this was recorded to the SD card. I wasn't expecting much for the low price. But I liked the drone so much that I bought a second one just for the extra battery. And that funny infrared obstacle avoidance thing on top ( for what it's worth). Of course it's not a DJI. The fpv range is sometimes 50 meters, sometimes 500 meters, as always with WiFi. And it isn't really fast so wind force 4 is about it. The app doesn't have a setting for the Return-to-Home strangely enough. Probably 30 meters. I am trying other apps. But it gets plenty satellites nice and quick, doesn't show any form of toilet bowl, launches pretty stable. I think it will work nicely flying from my bike. (For example my C-Fly Faith Mini is impossible to fly at the right pace. It's too fast, all over the place) So ya, worth every cent. Amazing price for what you get. Video looks great. Well again it's not DJI, but definitely good enough for me! I'm really happy with the thing. There are two long reviews on YT by Max Hobby and Paolo Drones.

I don't know yet. I only flew it briefly and there was strong wind. So I'm waiting for some better warmer weather. For me fpv distance is 200-300 meters is more than I need. But I will let you know when I lose the image. It is a really nice drone. Amazing price.

If you want long range then perhaps the C-Fly Faith Mini (1) is cheap? The phone connects with cable to the controller. But only 25fps. The video is bit jerky when you turn.

@@paje1217 I have the C-Fly Faith Mini too. But it doesn't really work on my bike. Basically it is too fast. And the follow-me mode is pretty much useless. I so wish those damn Chinese programmers would get it right. Really not that hard. Other then that it is not a bad drone. This L200 could work a little better for me. I don't know yet. The video quality I think is great. I was quite surprised is was that good. Better than the C-Fly Faith Mini 1. How reliable it is and rang etc. I will have to test. I am in a no-fly zone and this week there is still too much wind for such a small drone. All I can say is that I actually bought a second one just for the spare batteries. I like it that much. Things I don't like: The app sucks. I'm trying other apps. The gimbal cover is hard to get on/off. And the follow-me isn't programmed as it should. Range is not important for me. It's a cheap WiFi drone. I don't expect wonders.

No this is a GPS brushless drone bought for €45 on Banggood.

But it had a problem. Flew up up up and then fell down. Other people same story. So I tried a different GPS module I happened to have laying around. Now it flies OK.

I maybe meant my L109 Pro? It's not better than the C-Fly. But the follow-me works exactly as it should. I so wish other drones with a better gimbal and camera did as well. Unfortunately those programmers have no clue.

@@driewiel I have the Atom and I have not used the auto features. I just fly it and take vids and pics. And for that purpose alone the Atom is awesome. I cant even stomach the video of this bangood drone not even going to comment on the flight or battery, again Atom hands down specially if you get the flymore for $350 cant be matched.

@@lessstrainmovers779 Well good for you. But the Atom does not have a follow-me like on my L109 Pro drone or Fimi A3. All it has is active-track and only from behind. And I don't know about you, but I'm don't have eyes in my ass to see what it is doing and prevent it from crashing into something. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it also lacks a homepoint update option. So it's pretty much useless on a bike. I'm not interested in flying a drone over the local park. I have drones for my bike tours. Unfortunately very few drones work in real life. That includes DJI drones with active-track and obstacle avoidance. It all looks nice on paper. But the real world isn't a lab. People crash it all the time. After couple tries they forget about it and fly it manually. I wish the video of the L109 Pro was a little better because it is pretty poor quality. Doesn't have to be super IMAX quality. I don't work for National Geographic. Just a little better that's all. And no I'm not talking about this SG105. It's a $45 drone I bought for fun because it was so cheap. I'll give it some kid to play with.

I bought other batteries with case that are a little better. After 9 minutes a warning. But then you can still fly another 5 minutes. So close 15 minutes total. That's not too bad. But now we need Remote ID!!

I don't think it matters. Maybe the camera settings on the 2023 version are slightly brighter? But the 2021 version seemed to get satellites quicker. The 2021 version also an antenna in both front legs. The 2023 only in one leg. Not sure it makes any difference as for range. It won't be miles anyway. Of course the 2023 controller has a telemetry screen. But I kinda liked the small older controller with the phone mount at the bottom. Works a little better while riding a bike. So I will be using that. They are interchangeable. So are the batteries. I had a bit of bad luck with both. The gimbal on the 2021 went funny during transport. And I crashed the 2023 in the grass with slight damage. So I then used the (half centimeter shorter) legs from the 2021 on the 2023. I don't know why, but it wasn't fast enough to cope with a force 4 wind and flew away. Maybe it wasn't in GPS mode either? I know how to fly but this was too much. It happens. Normally the SG108 Pro can handle a bit of wind. I like the SG108 Pro and ordered one again. The 2023 as it was offered cheaper for €115. But if you can find the 2021 version cheap then I would decide what controller you want. The 2023 with screen, or the 2021 which works better on a bike. Maybe you also prefer the all orange legs of the 2021?

@@driewiel ive seen both your vids about the old & new version and i like the new camera seems more stable and picture quality looks better. Just ordered mine yesterday its the orange with black legs with lcd on the remote. Its my first drone i hope i ddnt make a mistake of choosing the sg108 pro😅

@@Rcrdo072Yes you could be right that they tweaked the camera settings somewhat on the 2023 model. And no you didn't make a mistake. It's a really nice little drone. Don't listen to idiots who cry about the video not being as good as DJI. Who cares? I certainly think it is good enough for your KZbin videos. Don't expect kilometers range. Couple hundred meters in the right conditions. I always fly line of sight anyway. It does fly really easy though. If you have problems with the SD card like me on the 2021 version, try smaller size 16-32 GB. To shut off the motors a little quicker after landing use the app. Gimbal is also smoother in the app. If there is lot of lag with HFun Pro, you try can a similar app such as ZLL for example. The optical flow works, but the drone will drift a little bit in a light breeze. Keep it in GPS and always do a good compass calibration. Let it hover for couple seconds before you send it away. And set the return-to-home height at 30 meters or so above the tree line. After a bit of flying and few test landings you can go up higher and further. In theory it should always automatically come back. Don't start pushing all the buttons if you lose it out of sight! Or you may actually cancel return to home. If you start 'home' yourself one push and wait. I'm sure you are going to be happy with the SG108 Pro. And BTW don't register for the 20 grams too heavy. Cars kill 1.3 million people every year and are allowed to go 5% faster then the speed limit.

@@Rcrdo072 The new 2023 version of the SG108 Pro has trouble finding satellites. Someone suggested to put some shielding tape around the wires from the mainboard to the GPS module. So I did, and yes it seems it gets satellites a lot quicker now.

This was the 2021 version. I haven't flown the 2023 long enough to determine if the flight characteristics are different. I doubt they are. The black legs on the 2023 are a little bit longer. But that is probably just because those are the ones they have in stock. In this video it appears as if the S188 flies as easy as the SG108 Pro. But it doesn't. At least not while riding my bike. Keep in mind that the follow-me feature will only let the drone follow from behind where you can't see what it is doing. I wish it was programmed like my L109 Pro drone! The follow-me on that thing works perfect. Long story if you want me to explain.

Maybe the older version is better? Better GPS module? I don't know. Again I don't think it matters what version you get.

The S188 has a much better camera as you can see. But after 500 meters or so I had all the trouble landing it in one piece. Some kind of geo fence It wanted to fly back. I can't use that. So I sold it. Same for the F11 4k I had. Impossible to fly smooth at the right pace. And it suddenly did a return to home every time I had it follow me. Shame as the follow-me feature was the right type. But the SG108 Pro is much easier to fly manually with the sticks while riding my bike. That is what matters for me. If that means the video quality is a bit less then so be it. If you can't fly a drone you won't have footage at all. And that is why the SG108 Pro is such a nice drone. It's cheap, easy to control in tight situations. You will use it very often. Make something that will keep the gimbal cover on. Velcro or something. So you can carry it in your pocket.

@@driewiel looks like i made the right choice cant wait for my sg108 to arrive😁. By the way have you tried using a usb powered wifi repeater stick to amplify the wifi signal? They say it smoothens the video quality and the distance.

@@Rcrdo072I have a repeater for 2.4Ghz but not for 5.8Ghz. Not sure if it will really help with the video feed. But at least the SG108 Pro records to the SD card. You're not going to use the files on the phone that often as that is only 720P.

If you put it up high and far you have a lot of room to ride though the scene then turning it gives you more room then update home point and do it again. The gps follow resembles a hardware failure it scares me

@@volestoat I have a whole bunch of follow-me videos on my channel. Not many drones do it right. But if so then it is way more practical than active-track.

@@volestoat The follow-me on the C-Fly Faith Mini is pretty much useless. I can't even use the sticks in follow-me mode! And flying it manually doesn't really work either. My SG108 Pro for example was much easier to control. But the F114k Pro I had was impossible to fly smooth while riding my bike. My Fimi A3 is the best follow-me drone ever made. But it a bit big. And it takes long to calibrate and get satellites. One thing it doesn't do is keep the camera pointed at me when I use the sticks in follow-me mode. My L109 Pro does. And it auto-updates homepoint constantly. I wish the camera was a little better. Of course people with a DJI are gonna argue about obstacle avoidance blah blah. But DJI's active-track is really annoying in reality. I've seen many who tried and give up after having to ride back the whole time.

I can't weld. But I've been to Switzerland 3 times plus other trips. Couple things that did fail like a rear hub weren't my work. Never had a real issue with the frame. Take it from me, I am absolutely NOT technical. If I can build it, your mother can.

@@driewielI’ve just bought a small inverter welder to make stabilisers for my Chinese trike so it can’t tip over. Have fitted an e-bike kit as well due to muscle reduction. Ali welding is another level though. I’m looking to get an 2nd hand trike and make it into a low trike for better stability. I think you just need some common sense, imagination and the ability to learn other skills. My welding ain’t pretty but so far seems structurally sound. Tig welder would be better for welding bike frame but at £300 not justified. Have considered using steel box frame to weld onto the back end of the 2nd hand trike and then use existing head for steering and pedal moved further forward..

@@bobbo9549 I don't think I will go through the welding process. I may have couple small bits welded for me next time such as the kingpins. But a nuts and bolts frame means I can change or repair it anytime. So I wouldn't be afraid to use bolts here and there if I were you. I've gone over bumps and holes, cobble stones, gravel roads, mountainbike trails. The frame never failed. But I have seen expensive welded trikes break. If you are going to add stuff like e-assist, solar, a big trunk, you better build it strong.

@@driewielyou’re right there. I would be looking to re-use the crank and steering brackets which I’d probably be brazing into a 3” steel tube as the spine and replicate the trikes rear axle mounting. Or might do it in 1 1/2” steel box section doubled up which I can bolt or weld. There are load of options only restricted by one’s abilities. Look forward to seeing yours finished.
