Big fan of the layout! Love the prototype FGLK and this feels like I’m actually there in person. Well done!

It’s awesome to see a fellow younger model railroader; I’m a millennial and I’m typically the youngest in the room. I live in Seneca Falls and pass the Geneva yard on a common basis but I model 1950’s steam/diesel Pennsylvania railroad.

I love your layout, it is so different than what I built years ago, I see that the trend is getting away from a 4x8 piece of plywood layout and doing perimiter layouts instead. New sub

Excellent update and tour! I love how you spaced your towns/industries using modeling licensing yet keeping most of the protoype operations. I am a conductor on the Arkansas and Missouri Railroad and I have a picture of a Finger Lakes boxcar I pulled from an industry, and sure enough, it was an old A&M boxcar. Lol the AM is patched out for the FGLM reporting marks lol

@FGLKPaul Would you share the raw photos you've taken for your backdrops? I'm modelling the same season (mid/end of Autumn) and the geography is fairly similar as well. My prototype is PC back in the 70s.

Hey Paul, love the layout tour! As someone that lives near Watkins Glen, it does my heart so good to see my most local railroad being modeled in such a true-to-life fashion! I've been watching for a while and am still impressed every time I watch one of your videos. And I definitely agree that the Seneca Lake scene is such a prime section of your layout. Well done! Keep up the good work, my friend! Here's hoping that 2025 is a great year for you and your layout (and for the Free-Mo modules)! Also, I've seen 2201 in some of your previous videos and never realized that it was custom painted! Great work on that! Also also, I love the custom work on the gondolas - the 3D printed parts look like they are original to the gons and the first attempt at graffiti looks pretty sharp! I have plans to model some of those gondolas similarly in N!

Have you tried play sand from Home Depot? It's like 10 bucks for 30 lbs. You just draw out the iron with a magnet then glue the real rock down double check again with magnet , then weather it. I have a roofing manufacturing company that I was able to shove up 5 gal bucks of different colors for shingles then sifted it to N HO O grade size. Then I bagged what I didn't need and sold it off. Something to look at.

Interesting suggestion. Would this be for ground base, or for ballast that you're referring to? I have some brown grout from home Depot I've been using for my scenery base/dirt and it works well.
