Thanks for the mention man! The reason the buttons were "messed up" is that in order to go to G and 9, you would need a code to go there since they are not public floors. They have since modded the 2 that were in the process of being modded during the time you were there. They are currently in the process of modding the ones you rode in your video and they are expected to be done within a few months or so then they'll begin the staff ones!

Based on the permit (which said VV-DC) I don't think these are on original controllers (as that would indicate a solid state/microprocessor controller, but probably original machines) although I don't know for sure. It is too bad these were locked off since my visit years ago.

The fixtures are Elevator Research & Manufacturing (ERM) with CA-91 buttons.

I haven't actually been here (although I do know where this is). I think these may be on newer controllers. I did visit a building in the Fashion District with a bank of 2 Westinghouse elevators with an Adams fixture slap-on and original controllers, but I'm almost certain that building is currently 100% vacant.

The elevators in 1149 S Hill (which I think may have also been original Westinghouse, but there are no videos of these) were also part of this mod project. There was 1 original garage elevator in 2023 (in the parking garage across the street), though I would be surprised if it's still running (the car next to it was being modded)

I’m so glad you got to ride these elevators. When I first stumbled across these elevators, I was totally stunned at how amazing and original these elevators were

That guy yelled at us when we were last there (March of this year) & he was very angry & threatening for no reason. We weren't guests & I understand we technically shouldn't have been there but he should've been much more professional. But the hotel's now closed for an apartment redevelopment where the elevators are most likely going to be modded.
