if you do it correctly with pre approval and paper work, you can PUT a firearm on a plane. I say PUT, because im pretty sure it needs to be in a case and it needs to be checked in at TSA. Im almost sure you cant carry at all on a plane. Im not sure on all of the details, so do your own research, but ive seen it done before without too much issue.
