The orc chief asks Laios, "If you defeat the mad magician who created this labyrinth, you will have the entire labyrinth, but what do you intend to do?" Laios replies, "From now on, I will explore with the aim of taking possession of this labyrinth." This conversation will be an important theme in the story.And Senshi was listening to this conversation next to him. It's good to remember this.

I'm glad you like the designs of the orcs! Notice that they all resemble wild boars rather than the standard pig-like design (in japanese media) and that the baby orc resembles a young boar that hasn't fully developed any tusks or dark patterns! Ryoko Kui is amazing at putting her own spin and depth into the world of fantasy!

I'm actually with Marcille. The orcs just slaughtered an entire market full of people and then act like they're the victims. Even the chief felt some grudging respect for Marcille having the guts to call them out on their hypocrisy.

One of the things I really appreciate about your reacts is how much you're thinking about the characters. I think Dungeon Meshi's strongest feature is the little intricacies of each character and how the world building slowly stacks up in layers and layers with each chapter/episode.

as someone who's checked out both the dub and sub (and read the manga), i actually prefer the dub. it kinda varies on a character by character basis, though: marcille: i strongly prefer her dub voice. her japanese voice actress isn't bad but her english va absolutely knocks it out of the park laios: his english va is better in comedic moments but his japanese va is better in emotional moments chilchuck: eh, about the same but maybe slight preference for his japanese va senshi: slight preference for his english va

About the Cain confusing NPC conspiracies....I can't help but notice the art model had it's own door in episode one. It wasn't in the theme song either. There were multiple in the restaurant scene in episode one as well. They were basic NPC placeholders in episode 2.

Chilchuck is of the half-foot race, they're basically the halflings or hobbits of this world. Ironically, when you scale the different races {Tall-men are normal humans like Laios} average lifespans, Chilchuck is the oldest proportionally of the four {Senshi= dwarf, Laios= Tall-man Marcille= Elf}

Welcome to the world of "Dungeon Meshi".This anime is constructed with a very detailed worldview. Foreshadowing is set in the dialogue of the characters and the scenery of the dungeon. So the second time you watch it, you get a different impression than the first time. The story of the man who turned to dust at the beginning is also important. I look forward to your future videos.

Ooo im a big ole manga nerd for Dungeon Meshi. Youre in for a treat! The dub voice actors are very good, but the localization changes some of the nuances and annoys me sometimes. If you fall in love with the show like I have I definitely recommend watching both. One thing I'll say is, Marcille gets the short end of the stick a lot at the start, looking like a purely comic relief character, but shes absolutely my favorite written character. Ryoko Kui, a japanese woman, is the sole writer and illustrator of the managa. I suspect she is her favorite character, but I have no proof.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the show so far! Studio trigger has been doing a great job with this adaptation, especially the cooking animations are top notch. Marcille is definitely my favorite character too, I can't wait to see your reaction to some of her moments in future episodes. Good job picking up that small line about her having died before- keep that in mind as you continue watching :) So far, the show has aired 21 episodes, out of the 24 episodes planned for the first season. That will probably get us about halfway through the story relative to the manga, which finished towards the end of last year. I personally watch the Dub of this show because I think it's really good and I can pay better attention if I don't need to read subtitles, but I wanted to say that whatever you are using to watch the show actually has pretty good subtitles! Especially compared to the ones on Netflix, which can be... a bit off the mark on their translations sometimes. Looking forward to the next video!

The nice thing about this opening is that nearly *all* these characters have names and histories, though they may not be expressed inside the story proper. The author makes a lot of side content.

I’m excited to see ur reactions!! Warning!!! This show may be humorous, fun, lighthearted, but it can get gorey and violent at times. I love it though, and as a manga reader, it’s super high quality in terms of character development, worldbuilding, and storyline (really intricate)

One quick tip, I'm not sure if you had noticed in editing, but it seems as though your mic is picking up the show's audio from time to time, creating a somewhat distracting echo. I'd recommend wearing headphones or moving the mic further away from the speakers in future videos :)

I love this manga and I'm so excited that the anime has taken off like it has. Ryoko Kui is the lone author and artist for the manga, and I'm so glad Studio Trigger has kept her artstyle in the anime. Her art is so comfy. Most of the art in the ending credits is part of her extra collections she titled "Daydream Hour". Danjon Meshi, is "Dungeon Food". The story is both comforting and tense. Unfortunately, if you look up her art youre almost garunteed to find spoilers. Try to avoid spoilers! It's such a good story! Youre in for a treat.
