Levshunov has two primary weaknesses in my opinion: his intelligence/decision-making/hockey IQ and his defensive ability in his own zone and through the neutral zone.
@Lebowski559 сағат бұрын
The concerns about Boisvert’s lack of speed our way overblown. He dominated the USHL, A fast junior league. The Blackhawks don’t have many prospects like him. Not every prospect has to be sub 6 feet and blazing fast

We all know Dmitri Kuzman was acquired for a specific reason to help facilitate and acclimate Artyum Levshunav's growth socially and culturally. The benefit that paring Levshunav and Kuzman together at Rockford is a smart move by the Blackhawk's organization for the following reasons: These two train and workout together in the off-season. Artyum is still in the process of learning English (language) and North American way of life. I believe this will help him focus and improve his hockey skill set. He definitely has the right tools; as you stated. "He is raw. To say he is a bust at this point in time is a bit short- sided. Patience is the key. Besides, I don't believe the Hawk's need to rush his development. The organization is going to do everything possible to facilitate his development.

for the mail bag... Would it be disastrous to simply buy out Brody? What would be the downside? To send Kaiser down while Brody gets ice time makes no sense to me.
@isaacguerrero887313 сағат бұрын
Del Mastro gets a chance to show what he can do. Maybe he is being showcased for a trade? Kaiser gets top 4 minutes with Korch and Lev in AHL. This season and really next season is all about developing the kids at NHL or AHL. Because of logjam on our d-core the kids will have to get their minutes somehow. Something to think about. How come Allen is never sent down instead of Kaiser? Bottom line, Martinez will be replaced by Korch next year and it's most likely that Brodie get bought out in the summer. Hawks can only have 50 contracts and they will be needing Brodies roster spot for young players. Brodie was signed for insurance so we don't have to deal with last years issues. With the rise of Crevier, Allen, and Kaiser, Brodie will not be needed. No need to stress. The bigger question is do Hawks resign RHD Murphy to an extension or let him go after next year. RHD Rinzel and Lev on the horizon.

QUESTION OF THE DAY -- What Was YOUR Reaction To My Top Five Chicago Blackhawks Prospects?!
@Phil00484Күн бұрын
Excellent Guest.
@FunkshwayКүн бұрын
Hawks biggest mistake was drafting this kid. Could have had Demidov to pair with either Bedard or Kansterov. You knew we would be bad this year and you would have gotten another top 3 pick which would allowed us to get Schaefer, Hagens or Misa. Absolute joke of an organization. Also stating he’s the most reliable defenseman in the draft is wild. This dude regularly leaves his assignment in front of the net. Is one of the first players out of the defensive zone AS A DEFENSEMAN, is an absolute joke.

Trade Hall, retain 1/2, plus our 2nd rd pick for contenders 1st. Bring up Slaggert. Or just leave roster spot open for Brossoit so we can carry 3 goalies on roster.
@fubartotale3389Күн бұрын
People forget that Reichel was in the Lafrenier draft, and its just within the last season that hes shown that he wasn't a bust, as a lot of folks were calling him earlier. He also has a lot more games up at the big club and the Rangers are a perennial playoff team. So its really too soon to call him a bust.That was the COVID class and many players from that time are running a bit behind in their development.
@shawnbrdlik6213Күн бұрын
I mean a lot of those guys are not doing well. You’re exactly right and if we adjust our expectations I think Reichel can make it as a decent piece

Waivers immediately. No takers, minors immediately. Bring up Del Maestro. Put Allan back in. Alternate Kaiser and Martinez as 6 d-man.

It's either that or permanent 7th defenseman/rotating in every now and then. No one is trading for that contract, or picking him up off waivers with that price.

Brodie was the worst free agent signing this past offseason. Everyone except Kyle Davidson knew this was a horrible signing the minute the contract was signed!

Bedard routinely makes dangerous passes that lead to turnovers. He also takes bad penalties and always whines about the call. Hopefully he grows out of this soon because it’s hurting the team.

QUESTION OF THE DAY -- What Do YOU Think The Blackhawks Should Do With Defensemen TJ Brodie?
@jasonhawksfan3 күн бұрын
Tell him to go outside the stadium and have an Uber pick him up and drive away.
@raymondwellence21223 күн бұрын
Put him on waivers immediately. He probably isn't going to Garner any real trade capital. A veteran playing this poorly on defence is not a positive influence for our young defencemen.
@isaacguerrero88733 күн бұрын
Keep him as depth. Rotating/healthy scratch Crevier, Kaiser, and Allen isnt hurting anything this year. We will probably trade Martinez (and hes always hurt) , Murphy is always hurt, Jones may be traded but doubt it. Would be nice if Hawks healthy scratched Broadie so young D see fair accountability. Quietly buy him out and set him loose in summer.

At this stage of the team development, you take the player who is the most talented. I understand wanting a good defensiveman, but Levshunov will never be close to a Wilson, Keith, Brown, let alone a Chelios… but that’s where he was drafted. I do see Levshunov possibly peaking at a Seabrook. I would have taken Demidov too. No doubt.

Nolan Allan has a ton of upside. If you can count on him to be smart and shut down the opposition for 22 minutes a game. Thats very valuable.
@LockedOnBlackhawks4 күн бұрын
Oh absolutely, there is 1000% value in that. I just mean in terms of upside, that's his ceiling, which is capped. And he's going to have to be a defensive stud to make an impact with his skillset. Not to say he can't be, as he seems on his way. Just other players in the system have higher ceilings than Allan. His floor is pretty incredible though and A LOT higher than others. Not as risky AKA, but not as much potential. Just my two cents, anyway.

Question for Mailbag: Experts have power forward type Porter Martone as top 5 prospect drafted by Hawks based on need. What is your evaluation of his play at WJC?

@isaacguerrero88735 күн бұрын
Draft offense. Need to fill out 14 forward roster spots. Dickinson,Mikheyev, Bertuzzi, Teuvo, Donato all under 30 and worth keeping next year. Add Foligno, Reichel, Nazar, Bedard, Dach that’s 10 forwards. Agree with many posters….Maroon, Smith, Martinez, Brodie, and severely underperforming AA, Kurashev, Anderson should all not be on roster next year or as soon as this trade deadline. Problem is Green, Lardis, Moore, Levshunov, Rinzel next wave of young players not ready till 2026/27. Therefore, Jones 30, Murphy 32 yr old keep. Hall 33 trade for 3rd rd pick. For next summer….There’s still space on roster, and money to try to sign free agents; 1 top 6 forward, and 1 2nd/3rd line power forward winger, if they will come to Chicago. There’s 16 playoff teams in 2025 that will also pay for top FA services. Cap is going up so more money avalanle for teams to sign their pending FA. Why would a top FA come to Chicago? Might need to resign Hall as a FA in July. GMKD doesn’t have it easy as people think.

And that's fair! I understand I'm probably higher on Kaiser than most. But regardless of a Kaiser v Allan debate... they BOTH should be playing over Brodie. No questions about it.

Thank you for continuing to bring attention to how dirty this organization is doing Kaiser. It isn’t even about the development for me, he is a better defenseman than Brodie. Dress 11 forwards if Brodie, Martinez, and Jones all must play, but they need to find a way to get Kaiser into the lineup.

QUESTION OF THE DAY -- Do YOU Think Frank Nazar Could Be A Long-Term Fit With Connor Bedard On The Blackhawks Top Line?
@Mark.gustafson30392 күн бұрын
Yes there is a fit. However, unless Bédard starts playing harder “ all over the ice”, if I’m Nazur I’ll soon be pissed. There’s more ice than the offensive zone and right now, that is the only zone where Bédard does anything.
