Is this safe to do long term? Can I hurt my vocal cords if I talk from the chest for too long?
@RealTalkingTips2 ай бұрын
Don't push the sound into your chest. You can scoop the sound from the bottom up so there's variety. Use lower hand motions that rise up so your voice follows your body.

I'm glad you enjoyed this podcast. I have no plans to record the audiobook of There's Money Where Your Mouth Is. Instead, I created the Real Talking Tips podcast and my two apps, Activate Your Voice & Adding Melody To Your Voice to support the printed word with active application and practice.

I'm lovvvin' this one. The fine points of coloring the phrases. I remember talking about this with you, and how to "set up" what follows and do it right. So helpful when you point out the differences between this and "upspeak". There is so much loot packed into this episode, if you get a million views it may be because I have it on auto-loop. Thanks!!

Organic and honest on so many levels! Once again, these valuable capsules are precious. Talk about instinct. This lesson reminds me of how, as a young ruffian, I used to gloss over the negative and proudly proclaim the positive when explaining my dubious actions to my parents. A lesson with Elaine is like giving my hands a private lesson with Arthur Murray.

Dearest Elaine, one of your students from SF. I just LOVE your Real Talking TIPS! I glean so much. I have yet to get your PODCASTING book; however, I did want to ask you a question about charging for sponsorships when you're NOT a Tim Ferris or Joe Rogan. After 16 years, the 1 hour talk show that Jack Perry & I produced for Air America Radio Network back in 2005...my green dream will finally Wo-manifest, Planet Check TV. Think a female green Howard Stern on-camera with IN-STUDIO guests and my favorite feature which I've been doing since 2004 is "Green Rock STAR" where I interview a musician/activist but this time? They'll play just 1 acoustic set in our SOLAR-POWERED RECORDING STUDIO here in San Diego. This is probably a longer convo but since I'm self-funding this passion project, I highly doubt I can afford a consultant of your fine caliber. You'e been on my 2-DO List, "Contact ELAINE ask about rates for sponsors." As I write this, your best seller, "There's Money Where Your Mouth Is" rests on my night stand next to Paramahansa Yogananda's "Scientific Healing Affirmations" funny, both books are orange & yellow--COSMIC! I'm always informed by your experience and insight with the voice/body connection. Starting with a dance background, I understand the emotion of the body, but later acting classes teach one about an inner history/fantasy/ etc. to draw from. To have the freedom to employ your body, as you're not seen in VO, to color your dialog is a huge advantage when alone in a box sounding "real". Fundamentals that one might never discover without years in front of a mic, before you get there. Thank you, please continue...

I adore your insights and comments. It's important to connect the history and synapses from other areas of life and apply it to voice over and all other forms of communication. Glad you like the series. Feel free to share links and spread the word.
