I have a book on the track. It might be available on Amazon or EBay. We had a farm several miles from the track & we could hear the big bore racers. My dad took me to a few of the races there. Thanks for sharing the video.

Thank you so much for this! The Mini that makes the pass at 6.04 is my father, Clarke Walser, who finished 15th overall and 4th in class. I have been hoping to find film of my dad racing for years and years and years. Any chance you have any more film of DS races from this era?

Great film. So many bugeyes, love it. My dad raced a mk2 sprite for many years then built a bugeye. I have it and hope to make it road worthy soon

Very cool to come across this video! My grandfather, John Coen, and his brother-in-law, Dave Eagleson, were in that race. Looks like you were racing my grandfather there towards the end. I actually have that old Sprite sitting in my garage right now! Thanks for posting!

mostly the noise but my dad said cars used to fly off the monza corner and land on rt 31 from time to time and that might have had something to do with it too. In freshman year shop class they showed a reel to reel movie of a race there was pretty cool. Me and some friends had a really cool motocross track laid out there in the 80's. Now it's got mountain bike trails throughout, i went there on my mountain bike this year, it's pretty intense.

I heard it was a very dangerous track.

The wikipedia article says there was a fatal crash there on the inaugural weekend, and from then on the track had a reputation as a "killer." I live very close to it. It's a nature park with trails now, and despite what it says online, barely anything of the track remains.

Safety concerns. Track wasn’t seeded properly so it effectively became dusty every 5 minutes.
