How do you get too the rum runners cave, already been tp open ceiling one

Really great job. Sadly for me with my 2024 Subaru Outback, the roof rack doesn't have any part of the raft that juts out to catch. So I'm trying to figure this out. At this point. Think I will be leaving my doors open while I load to partially help me

Thanks, your video is helpful. You may want to consider strapping it down differently. That strap across the top of your SUV can vibrate in the wind and wear away your clear coat and paint. There are several videos that show the strap wrapped around the rack and over the top of the kayak.

I think its better to flip the kayak up side down for more stability when transporting otherwise its wobbly.

New subscriber. Been looking for ways to be more active that i may enjoy. I saw some inflatable kayaks, but im to heavy to trust those.😂 i have to lose 200lbs. Long haul trucking life has taken its toll on me. Luckily outside of my weight and i need to stop cigarettes for good, but im in good health at 34,not on any medications thank God. Actually taking a year off of work to focus on weight loss. No kids for me to worry about yet anyway. GOD BLESS!!!

Run both ends of the strap over the kayak. The strap end laying flat along the car roof is sure to slap your roof repeatedly from wind on the highway. If you center the back end of your kayak to your roof rack before raising the front, it will be leaned up against your car straight and not be at risk of sliding off or needing the end of the crossbar that sticks out to hold it.
@marajevomanash Жыл бұрын
Isn't it easier if you just did that from the back of the car?
@misswandermusttravels640 Жыл бұрын
Either way works. Both ways are demonstrated in the video. It really depends on what you're most comfortable with and what type of car you have. For me, I personally think loading from the side is the easiest. Thanks for watching! 😊
@spencerboaz2385 Жыл бұрын
I would add if you have folding mirrors fold them in first . When the kayak does slip and fall it will take your mirror with it . A car mirror is from $ 100 to $800 depending on what you drive . I was lucky it was an older Ford truck and was able to find one at a wrecking yard for $65 . And for my 2024 Outback that mirrors do everything you can imagine , , , I don't even want to guess what that would cost .

This is definitely a helpful video. I obviously need roof racks and not just cushions with straps. My 13' boat is pretty difficult to put on my roof alone but this technique with the right rack would be no problem. Thanks! I'm closer to being able to go out by myself.

Thank you so much for this video! I am going crazy trying to decide which roofbars, racks etc to buy. I wondered if you have foam pads on top of your crossbars? I guess they might help the stability and stop it sliding? I think I'll just get the basics and if it doesn't suit me progress from there. Thanks again for the encouragement.
@misswandermusttravels640 Жыл бұрын
Glad I could help! Yes, I do have the foam pads on top of my crossbars, and they are very helpful with stability, and also protect your kayak, surfboard, etc., from being scratched or damaged. Happy kayaking! 😊
@KayakingCalifornia Жыл бұрын
Just a reminder not to do this on a really windy day because the wind could catch your kayak and blow it off your roof rack, while you are stooping down to pick up the other end.

Thanks for watching Cassandra! Glad you liked the video. My roof racks are Thule and they were installed by the dealership. It was many years ago, so unfortunately, I am unable to tell you the exact model but if you ask your dealership, or probably KZbin or google, I'm sure you could find a set that works best for you. Hope this helps, and good luck with your kayak search! If you end up with an oragami, please let me know how you like it. Those look pretty cool 😊
