I received a beautiful bouquet of Stargazer Lilly's from someone only to find out two day's later the flower..the leaves and their pollen are highly toxic to cat's and can cause renal failure. I immediately put them out on my terrace and tried to thoroughly decontaminate my apt. But now I don't know how to dispose of them once they die as they are still living fine in a vase of water on my terrace with flower food added. I'm wondering once the flower's die is that pollen on them still poisonous ? Any info you can offer is appreciated. My kitty is fine so far..I removed the flower's to the terrace Monday evening and it's Thursday now...she has no symptoms. I'd kept them high up where she couldn't get to when they were inside as I do with any flower's but in a window sill and pollen may have fallen ..which I've vacuumed thoroughly now and wiped all furniture down with damp cloth. They are so beautiful but florist rarely put warning labels on them for cat owner's.

Lovely video - thank you! I have a lot of beetroot and will be making a few bottles of this. I wondered how long it lasts after it has fermented for two days?
@nomadimitri6 ай бұрын
To delay further fermentation, put it in the fridge. How long is a matter of taste, for me about 1 week.

Is the salt necessary (considering it's only a 2 day ferment?) And what if it was primed with a packet of the bacteria? Could you just use a little ACV maybe instead?

Growing lilies requires more than four times more pesticides than growing potatoes or tulips. The pesticides are linked to neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and ALS. Furthermore, some of these agents can be carcinogenic in certain amounts. We have farmers in the Netherlands who lease their land to lily growers. It makes them very rich. We get the poison and you get the tubers. I'm so glad you grow there in faraway America . In the United States today, for example, you can’t eat the deer meat caught in in Oscoda, Michigan, as the health department there issued a “do not eat” advisory for deer caught near the former air force base because of staggeringly high PFOS levels in the muscle of one deer. And, just the other week, hundreds of residents who live near Luke air force base in Arizona were advised not to drink their water, when tests detected high levels of toxic chemicals. Scientists have found these substances in the blood of nearly all the people they tested in the US. No country or region on earth is untouched by PFAS contamination. It is a global problem. PFAS has been found in every corner of the globe. It is virtually present in the bodies of every human. It’s found in fish deep in the sea, and birds flying high in the sky. And it’s killing us, literally, by harming and attacking the very source of life: our reproductive capacities. The rapid death and decline of sperm must be addressed, and it must be addressed now. There simply is no time to lose.

I watched this video last year and did what you said and they are so an amazingly beautiful flowers Thank you. My garden is on 3rd year they looking getting more flowers blooming. The only problem is I don’t know how to get rid of the red beetles and those gross babies. They eating the hell out of the leaves and putting holes in my bulbs. Luckily for me the flowers are still alive and beautiful. I have about 9 kinds of lilies and I don’t know what they are called and I have Also have Tiger lilies and Easter lilies. I tried using an app to identify lilies that I don’t know are called. The app calls pretty much Easter lily. I know what a Tiger lily is because it’s different shape other than the lilies. Well I believe it’s White Easter lily. I love lilies because they’re flowering is huge and I wasn’t expecting Tiger lily gets as tall as me I’m 5’0 lol. Can you help me how to get rid of Red Beetles. I live in Berlin, NH we can’t got their Walmart and Tractor supply store. They had Japanese beetle trap last year not this year. I got on Amazon and traps the Japanese beetle tried to get out of the hole so I made the hole smaller but, not red beetle. Red beetle can climb up the inside bag wall. So Please what’s the best way to kill the red beetle other than hot water and Dawn detergent. Like an instant kill lol and without going poor lol. Thank you for your video

Hi Leslie: beetles are a terrible problem for the pesticide-free gardener. I will tell you what I do that helps a lot (but not completely) but it takes time: I have a small battery-operated handheld vacuum cleaner. Every morning, when the beetles show up, I vacuum them out of the leaves. After a week, their numbers diminish significantly. Try it and let me know.

I planted one Asiatic lily last year and it didn't bloom. This June 2024 it did bloom with five buds. Two more lilies grew from the first lily, but the two new lilies likely won't bloom this year as I don't see any buds on them. Is that typical? Had I known how beautiful the Asiatic lily was, I would have planted at least a dozen of them last year. This spring I did plant ten more.
@nomadimitri7 ай бұрын
Don't worry: just follow the instructions on the video and you will keep getting more and more. It's ok if they don't flower the first year, they are building up their reserves. Remember: it's what's below ground that is key.
