Augustine Eguavoen coached Nigeria in Afcon 2006. He won Bronze medal (Third Place), Nigeria won all the group games with Senegal, Ghana, and Zimbabwe losing to Nigeria in the group matches. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Africa_Cup_of_Nations

Well I have stayed Nigeria for 40 years and I know much of Eguavo and he is a good Coach more than Otto Addo and Eguavo have experience and qualify Coach for Ghana Black Star and not Scout trainer Otto Addo and must be Sack immediately for a New Coach for Ghana Black Star to qualify for the World Cup.Otto Addo sack from Black Star Team.

I have always loved your position with your analysis- This is a big step for Nigeria recognizing African talents to Management - Eric will do well with the support already shown to him, kudos to the team that appointed him as well for getting out of their bubble and thinking in the opposite direction of why not's and we should! I hope our brother countries can look at this prospect and emulate the fit. We have good talents in Africa, and they need to be encouraged! thank you.

Austin Eguavon I think will be positive development from a freshness perspective. It is disappointing to Black stars at such an unusually low position given the abundance of talent for the Ghana national team. Love from Nigeria 🇳🇬

As a Nigerian, I don't care whether Eguavoen is a Ghana coach. I will advice the GFA go for the former Cameroonian coach ( the Portuguese coach)
@rocklandrockland26807 күн бұрын
Ghana's coach is very good, coach Ato. He has led Ghana to the verge of WC qualification in the current qualification and helped Ghana qualify the last time. That shows he is a good coach. Hmmnnn, we have to see what happens but the way you are smiling at the end of the video I wonder if you are happy that Nigeria has made a mistake appointing this coach, remember Nigeria and Ghana don't see eye to eye on football. 😅

Otto Addo is Mr bad man. You need to embrace change and that is one problem of Ghanaians,Otto Addo failed and they should have left Eguavon to continue with the eagles and Ghana will shock una

Eguavoen did not do a good job. Losing to Rwanda was criminal. The same man oversaw Nigerias ouster of world cup qualification against ghana. Eguavoen is a yes man. By stroke of luck, the NFF has appointed a man that's passionate about the job. If kwesi appiah had been appointed, Nigerians would have screamed blue murder. It's just xenophobia that's making Nigerians go against the appointment.

I just followed you, bro. I love your unbiased submissions.. But Augustine Eguavoan is not the best choice for Ghana now... Amunike and Siasia are good to go. Eguavoan doesn't have finishing.

This problem of Indiscipline is not peculiar to Ghanian players alone. It also happens in the Super Eagles team, and other african national football teams. Generally speaking, African players that ply their trade in Europe usually tap into this auxilliary mode when they come to play for their national team. They see no reason to give their all. However, they seem to be justified - why? Look at the way the football federation treat the players. The players would be like "don't kill yourself for these people, they dont't pay you." , so their allegiance is to their club and I'm afraid to say this, it overrides their patriotism for their country.
@Kidzz.y8 күн бұрын
You made a good analysis. However, Mr. Eguavoen is a nice guy but don't misinterpret that for weakness. He's a very strict and tough man. You have no idea what it means to captain and manage the Super Eagles of Nigeria. Eguavoen has done both.

A point of correction: Nigerians do not care whether or not a Nigerian is Ghana coach.
@theeconomist12128 күн бұрын
If a coach is not good enough for Nigeria, he cannot be good for Ghana. Both Ghana and Nigeria should borrow money from World Bank to hire a world class coach, and stop these drama. The two countries have so many world class players and have been let down by mediocre coaching in recent years.
