Hey man, I've been watching you for a while now. You might've seen my comments begging you to pass me in subs, and I'm glad you have. You are the next man up when it comes to sports content, and if you ever need a hand cooking the Chicago Bears (or any other Chicago team) shoot me a call. Sorry it's only 2 bucks, but it's what I got for you brother

thank you so much dude! i definetly recognize all those comments lol, i appreciate you for following for some times now. awesome that you mention Chicago sports, you're gonna love my next video!! hint: baseball, and disco music...

@hydn. I was watching your video on Ten Cent Beer Night and I was wondering when you'd cover the disco demo! Probably the only time I'll be happy to hear my Sox mentioned this year. Here's to you, and the hope that you get your silver and gold buttons faster than an Aroldis Chapman heater

2 other possibilities as to the discrepancy in name: Dolly could have used a different first name and nickname as an easy out, in case someone spotted him as a fake he could point out the difference in name and explain that it was a misunderstanding all along. It's also possible that he was going by a written or printed game report that had itself gotten Howdy Gray's name wrong. Typos like that weren't uncommon in newspapers of the era, see the box score at 7:13 that misspells Lambeau as "Gambeau". Researchers who try to compile the biographies of early baseball players sometimes conclude that an unidentified player never existed, and was a different guy who had his name recorded wrong one time.

Recovering from bronchitis and going through your catalog. You and Undertaker's podcast have kept me from going crazy the past few days. I hope you see a golden play button before next summer, and I hope one day I can help you make a video on how bad the Bears are.

Great video as always, but I've noticed quite a bit of mispronounced words in the past 3 videos. One more quality pass on the audio should be enough to catch them

Love your channel but some of your criticisms were a reach, like did you actually care that Dolan fired that guy who had the job for 40 years or was it just another log for the pile? You say MSG is partially publicly funded but your table showed it at 0% and googling doesnt turn up any public funding, I guess you wouldnt have said it for no reason though. "Without the cartels all money would flow to the players". Oh those poor NBA players making $50m/year, they deserve so much more! I think there are trade offs to both systems, it's nice in Europe that bad ownership is punished with relegation rather than rewarded with the best draft picks. But the franchise model has advantages too, like smaller teams get a chance to win championships, and the teams are financially healthier.

It's surreal to hear the _Premier League_ being held up as a positive model for sports club ownership. The soccer world usually idealizes the German "50%+1 Fan Ownership", where fans own almost all the clubs in Germany except for a select few that were grandfathered in (Wolfsburg) or hated (RB). The Prem's treated like a league where only money matters, so it's funny to hear it being used the "good" example.

What a naive and uniquely American perspective on European sport club ownership
@ramirorybczuk91003 күн бұрын
The ownership models in European clubs and their changes in their last 25-30 years is really a case on its own. The socios model, the 50+1 rule, the bankruptcy and disbandment of clubs, the ones "owned" by governments or armed forces, the corporate groups buying clubs all over, and in the last 5 years the conflict of interest when someone owns more than one club. And their attempt at a cartel league: The SUPERLEAGUE. It's a whole bag of marbles.

For those wondering, relocations have happened in English football, but they are extremely rare and extremely unpopular. Look up the story of Wimbledon FC, their relocation to Milton Keynes and being renamed Milton Keynes Dons FC in 2003, and the Wimbledon fans effort to make their new team, AFC Wimbledon (who now play at the same level as Milton Keynes after many promotions within the English football league pyramid), which is similarly community-owned like the Green Bay Packers.
